Well considering hes ranked at level 3 and therefore subsonic speeds no not really.

Plus youre assuming that the planes were flying at their maximum speed when he caught up with them. For him to have been able to catch up with them and yet still be ranked as subsonic then it would seem that youre very very wrong with that assumption.

Either way we know that Storm can fly at 408 mph at least (well until the next time the records broken) so yes it seems they can indeed fly at comparable speeds. wink

Subsonic is everything under 700 MPH. He still might have been flying faster then 408 MPH...

But none of your evidence shows that im afraid. Your scans show Namor easily catching up with WW2 fighter jets from quite a large distance which as a level 3 is not something he should be able to do if they were going at anywhere their top speed (over 400mph)

That tells you that the fighters werent going at their top speed therefore you cant post WW2 fighter jet stats and say thats how fast Namor can fly because you have nothing conclusive. The only conclusive thing we have is that he is subsonic.

Storm on the other hand can fly as fast as any wind can and the current world record is 408 mph.

Storm can bend the rules of nature so peeds of 500mph + are completely feasible. However the aforementioned conclusive figure is good enough for now. big grin

Even if they were going at their lower speeds, he should have still flown much faster then 400 MPH to catch them over the Atlantic Ocean, I think.

Here is Namor, however catching a starship pretty effortlessly, twice:

Thats a starship which you have no stats on, plus its flying in an atmosphere and its circling over a limited area on an attack mission so its not exactly going flat out is it? Either way you have no stats for it so you cant infer anything at all.

As for the times when hes caught WW2 ships easily. The fact remains that for him to do so from a distance and so easily tells you that they definitely were not going at their top speed of over 400mph because a subsonic level flier simply could not do that. Youve made assumptions on the speed the aircraft were flying at on panel and then tried to use their maximum stats as a reference to how fast Namor flies. Sorry you just cant do that im afraid.

I have provided conclusive proof of how fast Storm can fly at least and thats 408 mph although its feasible that she could fly around the 500mph considering she can bend the rules of nature and that figure was a naturally occurring incident.

Either way its conclusive. Your evidence has so far proved that Namors 80's bio gives an incorrect speed figure. Prove hes faster than 400 mph. Until you can you cant say hes faster than Storm and you certainly cant say he can speed blitz her. wink

Okay...

In this issue, Namor flies from USA to Antartic (Or is it spelled Antartica, I am not sure) in course of one day. He is also mistaken as a modern flying vechile.

http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/...edfeat490gn.gif
http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/...edfeat509vg.gif
http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/...edfeat510na.gif
http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/...edfeat528to.gif
http://img501.imageshack.us/img501/...edfeat533sh.gif

Now, I'm not sure what the location of USA in that one was...but for measure, lets choose an area from USA that is close to Antartic. How about 24:32:43.20N, 81:48:13.90W from Florida, close to Key West. Namor was probably further even, it's shows plains under him, something like Texas or maybe Kansas. But let's use the location I chose as an example, you can of course give your own co-ordinates from USA if you wish. Only think we have to choose is the location where Namor landed, which was something close to coast of Antartic. Let's put it as 63:15:16.25S, 57:19:52.11W.

Distance between those points is about 6200 miles. The issue never stated the time, but it clearly shows that it didn't took days for Namor to get there...not even one day, because I think that Namor is not able to keep his maximum speed up for one day...he has his limits too. Okay, let's see how fast he would have flew if it had taken:

Six hours - 1035 MPH. That's Mach speeds, too fast, I think.

Twelve hours - 517 MPH. Entirely plausible, since he is able to go with subsonic speeds.

A full day - 258 MPH.

It certainly didn't seem to take him long to get there. Not a full day, thats for sure.

And thats the crux of the matter. All else is irrelevant and nothing conclusive.

Still no proof that hes faster than 400 mph and those scans dont show anything to support your case.

Namor could very well have taken nearly a full day to travel that distance stopping for breaks along the along the way. He is after all the sub mariner so that wouldnt prove too much of a problem.

Either way you have nothing conclusive only scans which are open to interpretation and prove not a thing. Until that changes you cant say Namor is faster than Storm. You can however say theyre of comparable speed. big grin
