That's so cool! I must admit I respect and know alot more about Namor than I did before I knew DC lol. Excellent thread of an obscure character, A++ Sub_Mariner is cool too.
Namor takes Ultron's blasts with no injury at all. These blasts have, for example broken Hulk's leg before. Ultron is going for the kill, so he probably is blasting near all-out. http://img240.imageshack.us/img240/...cnovel23pr3.jpg
I don't think this was posted (but it doesn't matter since I'm going to post it any way)- Namor plummets to Earth faster than the speed of light. That's a pretty good durability feat there.
Yeah, it is. I'm not sure if Golden Age is in continuity anymore, so I don't usually post feats from that era...
Plus Namor was like Pre-Crisis Superman during that era. In one example, he survives re-entry, in other one he gets knocked out by a guy with a wooden bat...
That's weird you bring that up DC. I was just thinking about that today. I was looking at one of Namors bios in a encylopedia and for his first appearance he has two listing. The 1939 one and the modern era one in FF #4. Superman has a similar deal on his first appearance listings.
So maybe FF #1 was the start of the MU.

Yeah, FF #1 is beginning of Silver Age. Some comics and years before that (Invaders and such) still exist in comic universe. Some of their adventures are still recalled in modern comics. Marvel doesn't have crisis, so it complicates things.
The story sounds lot like that What If #2005 comic...
"Variety explains the story as centering on a young man who dissovers he’s a descendant from Atlantis, and destined to play a pivotal role in a war brewing between the undersea world and the surface."
Jesus Christ, the Civil War handbook was great. The best treatment of Namor in handbooks ever.
"It's 1939 all over again, but we're not not dealing with a kid who wants New York for amusement park any more, folks, we're dealing with Namor the First, the Avenging Son, Prince of Atlantis, Emperor of the Deep, Lord of the Seven Seas, Supreme Commander of the Undersea Legions, a hardened veteran of wars, including the most devastating one of the 20th century. Our nation's superheroes may be divided against each other at the very moment their country most needs them united."
