It's one thing to have inter-title continuity. It's another thing to bleed your customer's wallets dry with the recent Sacrifice storyline, making anyone who wanted to follow it buy three Superman titles, Wonderwoman, and then--oh no, it wasn't actually concluded as they said it would be, you had to buy OMAC 4 also. Marvel's done the same thing, don't think this a simply slight on DC, but that's just the most recent example. To be fair, in recent years, thanks in part to Joe Q's efforts, that kind of stuff has lessened at Marvel--House of M has it's own series, which sucks, so you can follow the action there, and you don't have to buy all the mini-series and crossover issues. Whereas at DC, it seems if you don't read one of the mini-series, you miss a crucial part of the story--in one way that's good, it makes it a varied, large, and interesting tapestry which can create a compelling story. In one way it's bad in that no one wants to pay for all of it, and if the end result doesn't deliver, people get PISSED (Onslaught).
