I don't think that the band Disturbed is overrated. Nobody has really followed them since their debue album because everybody hated the 2nd one. This is in generalization mind you since I myself liked the 2nd album, but most people didn't. So if anything, I could see how it is possible to claim that their 1st album was overrated, but I liked it.

I don't think they are overrated at all, but that is just my opinion. I just got 10,000 fists and it is great. I like all their cds. But I know not everyone likes them and that is their opinion. I just wanted to add mine to this topic.
I would have to say: Coldplay! I mean why do people think that they are rock! they are just pop; 50 cent, mariah cary, the BEP, shawn desomd, sean paul, massari and basically everyone connected with rap, hiphop, or R&B, Espically 50 cent and his entourage

indeed...at the gym today and some dire music channel was showing the Q awards and the guy refered to coldplay as "the best band on the planet today" and i nearly dropped a dumbell on my foot
want to clarify my last post! i dont hate all hip-hop just the mainstream commercilsed stuff, and thats the reason for me anyways that i dont like that kind of music, cause it is sooooo comercial and like so many people in that genre are sell-outs

Explain the Radiohead, nobody has been able to yet. The one person who tried revealed that he just didn't like them. Which doesn't equate to overrating.
Also the Zappa, that puzzles me considering he's responsible for being one of the most innovative, peerless musicians ever.
Radiohead create the illusion that all their lyrics are cryptic and deep, when in fact they just make up random shit that comes to their heads and dress it up with deep emo artwork and vague hints at anti-Americanism, or something. Zappa sounds like shit. He cannot sing and he pisses all over everything with his guitar like a total amateur.
Emo artwork? That's not only criminally false, but it's also no reason to call the band overrated. Lyrics? A lot of them ARE cryptic and DO hold deeper meaning. Ever think you might not be able to get them? Of course not, nobody is ever willing to admit that someone they dislike is smarter than they are. Moreover, that's Thom Yorke's lyrics. No reason to call the BAND overrated.
You not liking Zappa is fine, but to say someone is overrated PURELY because you don't like them when they FACTUALLY have done a shit load for music to get rated for, is ridiculous.
I never buy into "You just don't get it". It just smacks of pretension to me. Maybe I'm missing something with Radiohead -- I listened to OK Computer and found nothing of any value at all. I listened to Kid A, I liked the vocals on the first track but everything else... it was so boring I wondered if it was the same album I had heard so many say was "brilliant" or if I had some weird bootleg of dodgy outtakes or something. Overrated is purely opinion-based anyway, there's no factual basis there.
Well calling them overrated because you don't like the idea that this band might be smart enough to go over your head is pretention of the highest order.
'Bullseye' doesn't quite do this quote justice.
Fair enough, but surely you recognise that it's regarded as one of the greatest albums ever for a reason? It's incredible. Normally I wouldn't use that as an example but everyone from people who know a bit, to people who know shit loads, cite that album as such.
Well you called them overrated based on artwork, lyrics and not getting into their albums. Because you don't get them (because you clearly don't, not to be offensive) doesn't mean I'm rating them too high.
