Uh huh. Is that what they are TELLING you, or the rule you are making? Because in she show NOTHING short of massive explosions could harm those bastards. I watch Stargate petty regularly and bullets, plasma weapons, massive amounts of C4 and even a small sidewinder (at least I think it was a sidewinder... it WAS a missile like you see on some military helicopters) missile at point blank range only slowed those guys down. No physical harm AT ALL. And they just absorb energy, except one specific kind of energy that the good guys had to go through HELL to get a weapon that used it.
EDIT: Oh, they also had badass regeneration if I remember correctly, as if they weren't tough enough.
EDIT part 2: Yep, just read the Wiki link. The symbiotes, while not like Venom or other symbiotes, give the people they live in great healing ability. Also from the Wiki link:

i watch Stargate, the sidewinder attack didn't directly hit the guy in that episode... and another one of them died when that base blew up (concussive force that wasn't even aimed directly at him).... and the armour was penetrated by those dart thingies... so any uber metal/lightsaber type of weapon should at least manage a stabbing motion through the fibre areas (if not a full slash)
their regeneration was standard for anyone that had a symbiote... which is way, way below Wolverine level
I'll get to the bottom of it Khell...thanks for helping to keep the tourney honest.
Also, unfortunately a lot of times I do have to go off of what I am told...I'm not knowledgable about a lot of these people, so some of it is trusting you guys and using my gut feelings. I'm doing the best I can, but always feel free to argue a pick if you think it's unfair.
The sidewinder hit at his FEET and didn't even stop him. The base bomb... was an explosion that was meant to destroy a MASSIVELY fortified military base. And that dart? It was an incredibly sharp TRINIUM dart. Wanna see what Trinium is? From Wiki again:
EDIT: And the dart didn't even puncture the material, it was just the only material that they could make small enough to fit in between the threads and strong enough not to sahtter on impact.

I'm not trying to come off like I'm jumping on your ass, cause I'm not. I'm just jumping all over that pick. No way do those guys qualify as they are in the show.
Oh, and we'll cement most of this beforehand (and I have a PM in to the Kull guy) but if someone slips soemthing by into the tourney, I'll stop it. We won't have anyone using the "well he has an unstoppable attack that could kill God so I win" argument with a random obscure character. If soemthing is blatently over the limit in a battle, I'll ban it.
That said, a lot of stuff is close to the limit...so complaining about something to try to get it banned won't work. It will have to be obvious and extremely unfair.
I still worry about Leto II (I am something of a Dune fan) Young Leto is not the Tank he would one day become, and although he may push the speed limits at a full out run, he cant fight/maneuver at those speeds in such a way as to blitz someone.
My problem with the prescience is not that he can see the possable futures, but rather that he can also see the past and the present. This amounts to an enourmous tactical advantage. You can't set an ambush for him. Hou cant hide from him. He know's your weaknesses. The Midnighter's tactical modelling or Benedict's aeons of experience/training make them hard to outfox, but only if they have accurate, complete, and up to date info to start from. Leto II KNOWS where you are, who you are, what your weaknesses are, what you've done, where you've been and what you're doing. He's not telepathic, but apart from that he literally has a God's eye view of reality. He doesn't just do this constantly in the novels, but only to avoid boredom throughout his long life. In this environment, that would not be a problem for him.
Then there's the Voice. Unless you've been trained to resist it, or are a robot or something, he can say things in such a way as to push the instinctive athority buttons in our primate brains. You obey the Voice without even thinking about it.
I think Leto II is just too much. Physically he's OK, but he has mind control (and I realize I'm in something of a glass house here) I think he crosses the "no magic" line with his awsome oracular powers.

Whatever The Voice is, it's banned. Sounds too close to telepathy. You won't need to worry about it.
We have guys who can hit at least 50MPH (anyone with ehanced strength can get close to this). American Eagle is at 65, Kenshin Himura is around 100, and Spider-Man, being about 100x stronger than a normal person, can hit these speeds too. Anyone with a strong guy, fast guy, or teleporter doesn't have to worry much about his speed.
The prescience is the kicker here. But again, if you outfight him I don't see how it'll be terribly toublesome. Sure, no ambushes...no hiding your abilities from him. But he's not going to be able to use it to simply avoid losing. I agree that it's an advantage, but I don't think its an unfair one. MN'er's implants allow him to analyze a person's upgrades. He'll basically know your powers when the fight starts too. And a minute into any battle and the amalgams will know what they're up against.
...
Oh, and let's try this for the Kull armor:
Repeated strong blows (punches) will considerably jar the wearer, but most energy attacks are negated or considerably dulled. The armor can be pierced by strong metals including, titanium, adamantium, vibranium, lightsabers, diamond, etc. The armor dulls concussive force but a large explosion (grenade level) will still harm the wearer.
...trying to find an acceptable compromise that does justice to the armor without making it too powerful.

Don't worry. I'm not going anywhere, and the goal is to keep things moving. There will be 2 fights per week so that there's always a lot going on...the battles themselves will take about 2 months. But the last tourney took about 3-4 months (for battles) and we only had 10 people (as opposed to 16 for this one).
If all goes to schedule, November 5 we'll crown a champion. Hopefully we won't lose momentum by that time.
