My theory is: Dumbledore is dead, because he trusted snape. But the fact still remains that Snape was a death eater. Mr Malfoy was imprisoned because he tried to kill Harry. Draco, who was Mr. Malfoy's son, followed in his father's footsteps, I mean look at what happened to Katie Bell in HBP in Silver And Opals. That necklace was deadly, it could have killed her. So I think that Snape really is working for Voldemort
but my theory is:
that snape is actually good and is still working for dumbledore even though hes dead
and dumbledore knew he had to die
and he had previously talked to snape about how he had to kill him
because snape is still on the good side
but he had to proove extreeme loyalty to voldemort to spy on the bad side
i know its complicated, but i hope u get what i'm tryna say

I think Dumbledore is dead but he asked Snape to do it. there was no other way and Dumbledore knew it, and made him promise. thats why Hagrid heard both of them arguing, and Snape saying that maybe he didnt want to do it anymore. He meant kill Dumbledore
