I like this mini series, I just have to keep telling myself that Strange isn't full powered or otherwise it'd be a joke.
But, yeah. I like it a lot.
"By he hoary ****ing hosts!" <----awesome.
I like Strange having a sidekick, he needs someone to keep him from being a hermit; but they can't be the leader, he can't take orders from anyone. He's got social prolems that are part of his character that shouldn't be taken away.
It's getting harder and harder to find any good feats. So, it's barrel scraping time!
So, in ASM#499 I believe, Strange time travels, Spiderman ****s it up by jumping off the time-travel boat and SM gets lost in time. Strange time trips 1 billion years into the future and still can communicate with Spidey. (please log in to view the image)
Ok, so this is kind of awesome. So, after the whole time trip matter got sorted out, Strange's gift to Spiderman (for his birthday) was grabbing Uncle Ben from heaven and allowing Peter to have 5 more minutes with him.
Strange defeats a massive being that eats souls. (70's Strange before his soul was protected).
Basically, the big thing sucks Strange's soul out of his body then Strange's soul kills the giant thing because...well, his soul is pretty powerful I guess. I don't have a damned clue, honestly. Surfer was there and his blasts had no effect.
So, Hulk & Black Panther & Namor & Spiderman are possessed or something, I dunno. But, they want a piece of Dr.Strange. (please log in to view the image)
But....nope. Strange, by accepting death but not fearing it, yet still fighting it, grows massive and seriously does a number on death. Her eyes pop out and everything.
How'd he beat her? By THROWING FRIGGIN' PLANETS AT HER WHILE SHUDDERING THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE. i.e (He just threw a universe on Death's dome peice, son! Flash, eat your heart out.)
he killed the soul-eater because he was in a realm of unreality (he got sucked into it after nearly dying from the attack of the silver dagger) He destroys it because he happens to be real.
also, those heroes attacking him are just manifestations of his brain attempting to place order on the realm of unreality.
that was an awesome story arc.
this wasn't meant as disrespect to the good Doctor (my personal favorite character in comics)... if anything, it gives him more respect, as Strange's willpower was enough to overcome an entire universe composed of madness and unreality, and through his dedication, somehow get back to the real universe.
also, with the battle with death- that's when Strange surrenders himself to Death, and in doing so becomes immortal. He didn't grow massive- he took on the form of Eternity, which had been left vacant for some reason.
Great explaination, kudos. I had no idea wtf was going on in that comic. I STILL don't.
But, the Death part was pretty much how I said it, I believe. He grew into Eternity-esque, the universe became him and he ripped Death a new *******. THEN he became immortal.
Right? ...right? Shit, dude...that arc is insane. Somebody was on some bad acid when they wrote that.

This scan shows that his Eye is always on guard and ready to protect him. It moves at lightspeed and can teleport people who sneak up or it can absorb any sort of energy being blasted at him. It can basically be used as an auto-shield as well.
It's a pretty good counter against a speed blitz, too.
At least the site I swiped it from said were it came from. Damn what ifs...piss me off. This ISN'T a What Is. (please log in to view the image)
Oh, and current Strange DOES have Ancient One's power. AO gave it to him when he died.

This scan shows that Strange has direct acess to the Vishanti. Basically, if he's in deep enough trouble, all he has to do is ask and they'll fight FOR him. Remember, Agamotto by himself was a match for Galactus, all three are basically omnipotent. (please log in to view the image) (please log in to view the image)
