I for one think such a thing is a terrific idea. However, the problem is generating interest outside of the three (and you know who you are) to make an effort. If they feel intimidated, overshadowed or less than better than they, then how will you get anyone else to actually submit their pieces??
Sy, Ya K, Feanor are of my opinion far above the lot that do post in this forum. The Drunkard proser hardly submits due to constraints, and if he were...that makes 4 that the rest must better themselves in order to be at least on the same level.
So that makes, what? How many outside of them will want to do this? A great idea that will soon fizz if not enough feel they can compare and compete!!!
Or am I wrong in this?
And what about me, do I suck too then?
Yeah I kinda missed this thread... but I think a poetry competition is a really good idea

Um, if it's ok with everyone else, I would really rather help Lana to organize and run the competitions, instead of entering... my work tends to be at its best when there's no deadline, theme or limit on words etc.
And I'm also very flattered with regard to the compliments thrown my way by a certain someone I only tell the truth!!!
RRRRROW!!!

Ok, basically Lana and I shared a few words and ideas, we both think it best if we keep the rules as simple as possible so as not to deter potential entrants, but we would also like for the contests to be themed. The first contest is to be themed positively as most of our poetry is sad/depressive We figured this would make the entrants work a little harder and may even cause some of them to realise they actually like writing about 'happy' things I agree that it would be best for you to receive the entries via PM, Milla, and make a thread to hold them. I assume you're going to keep the thread locked so that others can't post? Make it sort of a gallery of the entries etc...
I think Lana's going to PM you with the details anyway.

Glad to hear it... I presume you'll be entering?
I'm thinking Milla will outline the rules of play soon.
