Eh? no he still had them up till his death and after he was brought back.
Sasquatch
Alpha Flight #4 [Vol.3]-Apparently Sasquatch is the king at this game......not a fan of vol.3 (please log in to view the image)
Uncanny X-Men #422-Weaker Sasquatch (or calm one) vs. Weaker Juggernaut.
"At that same time, Juggernaut and Sasquatch come up to each other, and Sasquatch punches the former villain, removing his helmet. The blast of the punch sends both men flying, and a crater is formed in the ground from the impact of their landings." They fight for awhile, but in ends in a stalemate since Sammy the fishboy gets in the way. [Alpha Flight are horribly portrayed in this issue though] (please log in to view the image)
Alpha Flight has many feats such as beating the X-Men, Dr.Doom, Avengers, etc. However, I can't get those scans. Can other people post some scans who have read AF?

I liked volume 2. It just moved too slow for its own good.
Has anyone read the Crossing Line affair? It's an Avengers story with Alpha Flight and Soviet Super Soldiers/People's Protectorate. It made great use of the international super-hero scene, which should be done more often.
Alpha Flight, and any team or character, can be made relevant and useful given the proper treatment. They got a shitty Lobdell treatment, it happens, and hopefully it hasn't crippled their effectiveness and worth too much. In another couple years they'll get a chance or be dusted off again.
I don't think to many people know what Alpha Flight can do. So with each member I'm going to post their powers or abilities. Just one for tonight though
=========== Puck (please log in to view the image) Name: Eugene Milton Judd Age: Born in the early twenith century. "He was a soldier of fortune in the early 1900s when he attempted to steal the mystical sword, The Black Blade of Baghdad. In attempting to steal the sword, Judd accidentally released the evil being, Raazer, who was trapped within. In order to contain the evil he had released, Judd had to sacrifice part of his life essence. The light from his life force was able to trap and contain the spirit of Raazer within his own body. This process reduced him to a height of 3' 6", however rendering him basically immortal. Keeping the evil of Raazer trapped in his body took constant constant effort, and caused him to be in constant pain". Abilities: Olympic level acrobat [agility of the 6' tall athlete], Fluent in many languages, Expert in espionage, Skilled streetfighter, Knowledge in ritual magic Strength: Strength Level 10 (800 pound to 2 ton) [After experiments] Durability: Upon the demon being freed and returning to his full size, he was captured by the Master and manipulated by him. In the end his cells were compressed to maximum density resulting him to his dwarf stature once again. However, Puck's flesh has the density of rubber giving him heightened durability to being bullet proof. Also from the encounter he recieved heightened strength. Powers: N/A
Snowbird (please log in to view the image) Name: Narya/Anne McKenzie Heritage: “Narya is a child of the Northern Gods. Her mother was Nelvanna, the Goddess of the Northern Lights, and her father was a human, Richard Easton. She was created for the purpose of fighting the Great Beasts who would soon break free of the ancient mystical barriers which held them in place. She was birthed by Michael Twoyoungmen who became her guardian and taught her of the world.” Abilities: Trained in the RCMP, "replay" the recent past of an area in her mind, Mystical senses, As well, she had the mental ability to compell others to aid her in her struggle against the Great Beasts. Strength: Strength Level 10 (800 pound to 2 ton) [Base form] Weakness: Due to Shaman's binding process, it restricted her from leaving Canada or upon doing so she would become weaker [She has gone to the U.S with the X-Men and not been affected though]. Snowbird's personality was overlaid with the character traits and instinctual pattern's of whatever animal it was whose form she was using at the time. Durability: Depending on what she transforms into will determine her durability. Such as when she transforms into either Tanaraq [Sasquatch] or Wendigo she is capable of taking armor piercing machine gun fire and be unaffected. Powers: Power of flight [unknown top speed], metamorph powers enabling her to change into any creature native to the artic and that of a human being [her true face is not human, and the animal she transforms into will be white]. “When she took the form of an animal whose mass and volume were less than those of a human being, she became a human-sized version of that animal. She could, however, draw additional mass from an unidentified and presumably mystical source when she took the form of an animal whose mass and volume were greater than those of a human being, such as a polar bear of sasquatch. She could then shed the additional mass upon returning to human form. Upon taking the form of an animal, she gained that animal's special abilities, such as, for' example, heightened sensory perception.”
Sasquatch (please log in to view the image) Name: Dr. Walter Langkowski Story: “When Walter learned how Gamma Radiation had turned Banner into the Hulk, Langkowski (who was already involved with Department H.) attempted to replicate the process with himself as the test subject, in a more controlled environment. Langkowski's experiments seemed to be successful as he discovered he had transformed into the 10 foot, orange fur form of Sasquatch. He assumed he the colouration difference between himself and the Hulk were due to sunspot activity over his northern research laboratory. In truth the Gamma Radiation was not what had given Walter his powers. The intense release of energy breached the mystical barrier between earth and the Realm Of The Great Beasts. During the split-second dimensional breach, the essence of the Great Beast Tanaraq escaped, taking refuge in the body of Walter Langkowski, thereby endowing him with the power of taking the Great Beast's form at will.” Abilities: Former all-Pro football player with the Green Bay Packers [linebacker], professor of biophysics at McGill University [Montreal]. Graduated from Pennsylvania State University [here he meet Bruce Banner. Walter entered a graduate program in physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and rapidly earned his Ph.D, and he became one of the world's foremost experts on the effects of radiation on human physiology Strength: Oringinally he was written his base strength he could lift 100+ tons, but currently they downgraded him to that of 70+ tons. However, the more he goes into a rage or is fueled by his savage side his strength increases due to Tanaraq taking control. Weakness: If he ever did lose control, Tanaraq could possibly take control over his body and take full control over his mind as well. His overall abilities would increase from the Great Beast taking back control of his body. Durability: In his Sasquatch/Tanaraq form his 10” foot body is incredibly durable able to withstand armor piercing machine gun fire. Due to his orange fur, and thick hide, Sasquatch has a natural resistance extreme cold and in hot tropical climates he feels uncomfortable but manages. Powers: Able to metamorh into Sasquatch without losing his intelligence and personality. In his Sasquatch forms he is given Super strength, heightened senses, increase durability, significant healing factor

Isn't every member of Alpha Flight Canadian?
And Sabretooth...nothing offical written, but he and Logan have been fighting for about a hundred years now, and it started out of mountain country in Western Canada. And Creed has always maintained some residence near Calgary, right?

Majority are, some were born else where and moved to Canada. Sunfire was somewhat a member for awhile (vol.2)
That's true, but like you said nothing offical. Here's a scan of Warbird saying he's Canadian [I believe he actually wins that fight]. Really what's with Canadians and healing factors though, seems like a trademark for Canadian mutants.
Miss Marvel days [I believe it's the same Carol], and his first recorded comic appearance was in Iron Fist. I got the pic from the Sabertooth respect thread. To arsed to look through it right at the momment.
Here is just a quick scan, more to come
======== Shaman What If? #59 [Vol.2]: Wolverine lead Alpha Flight-Here Shaman is quickly and easily taking out Sebastian Shaw. Keep in mind this is a "what if" story, but even in the 616 universe he is capable of this [just doesn't like altering one's mind]. (please log in to view the image)
Wasn't this the comic that had a character that was homosexual, and caused some controversy for a while, but was then over shadowed by the Death of Superman?
