The 21 .jpg with Carnage strangling Venom is from the PP-SM arc where Kasady has lost his symbiote, escapes from Ravencroft and rampages around town covered in a mixture of red paint and blood. Clete is imagining killing both Venom and Spidey on home-plate at Yankee Field, IIRC.

And yes, Toxin could be a bit better-looking symbiote-wise. It might be interesting to see a "good" symbiote facing off with bad ones in the future, but.... I dunno, I'm suspending judgement till I see issue 4. The translucent eye-shields are kinda interesting.
