Professor Stevens jumped when his phone rang. It was a long time since last someone called his cellphone. He got up from where he sat, locked the computer as a habit of his and walked over to the other desk. He then picked the phone up "Archibald Stevens" He answered as he put it against his ear.

April sighed as uncle Cable spoke. It was boring to be an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. She climbed up and crouched on top of the chair "Uncle Nate needs to relax. I know my bounds" She said and rolled her eyes where she now sat.

Rose looked up in the sky, took a deep breath and shot upwards at great speed. Nathaniel Christopher Summers, aka Cable. She funneled the voices of the world where she now floated at such an extreme altitude, waiting for a sign. Any sign.

Another appeared before the mighty Kallark and although she was a woman, she was not safe from his judgment if she wished to impede the search of Lilandra. He set his sights on her and flew towards her, and slowly he made his way towards her however he didn't realize the difference in his speed yet.
While on the ship Scott sat Jean down and wondered what the hell had just happened. Rahne, Rei, Logan and Jean seemed to be fine, but Emma betrayed them for nothing, Jean was trying to rub it in his face, but he ignored her. He sat down and took control of the ship and wondered where to go next. They only had three hours left until Lilandra lost her throne.

Tempo beheld Gladiator charge her at great speed and she remained in position a time longer. As he neared, he slowed down little by little and when he was just next to her, she flew around him, dodging his attack. To him, it seemed like she was moving fast, but the truth was that he was moving slower. His mind would perceive it as if nothing changed for him. She grinned within her helmet, but she had no intentions of actually fighting him "Too slow, Gladiator. Much too slow! " She just had to make sure to keep dodging him. Even slowed, one hit could probably take her out. She only hoped Vulcan and Terrax made their move soon. Slowing time was a process of great strain.

Terrax was struck with the heat vision and hit the ground from the blow, the heat didn't hurt but he still felt the force. He grunted and jumped to his feet, his axe pointed at Gladiator again. The tip of it began to glow and another blast shot out at him, this one much large then the first. Now that Tempo was there he knew the fight was going to end very soon.
Santo rolled his eyes all thought no one really could tell besides him, Cable seemed intent on killing his fun. He always thought Cable one of the cooler heroes well today he was being lame. "Dude chill, we're just talking. Besides I'm Indestructible dawg, and even if somehow she did I'd just reform. So Eventually I'd just crush her; see nothing to worry about."

"Crushing her is what a part of me is worried about and don't call me dude. By the way, how is that essay coming?" He was cut off by Professor Stevens who answered his phone and responded to him. "Yes this is Nathaniel Summers from a school of gifted children. Me and an ex-employee of your lab was wondering if we could come by for a field trip. We have a few questions to ask you, and I think a talk between two intellectuals as us would prove very beneficial to the future." He tried his best to sound all intellectual and scientifical although that wasn't really a word.
Gladiator missed her, he couldn't believe it, his confidence was at its capacity so he should've punched her head clean off. He then turns around to Terrax to find another blast coming his way at its normal speed so he moves out of the way or at least he think he does. Gladiator's speed has been reduced to that of a snail and he got hit. Usually it wouldn't hurt that much but the fact that he got hit made him doubt himself and wonder why he wasn't fast enough to hit them. His confidence dropped but he wasn't going to give up. His eyes glowed bright and he shot his heat vision at Tempo before turning around and charging at Terrax.

She took a deep breath, vanished and a few seconds later followed a sonic boom. Deliverance was at hand, humanity. She filtered her hearing down to his voice, locked into his position and neared at stunning speed.

Archibald scratched his head "Hello there, Mr. Summers. Well, I don't know. We are a little busy and you sorta need to make an appointment, so we can do proper preparations for a field trip" He paused when Nathaniel brought up the future. By the sound of it, this person had as much personal interest in seeing him as he had bringing his class. "I guess I can take myself some time to help you out. When is it appropriate for you and your students?"

Tempo focused and the projectile shot at her was slowed to a crawl, and Tempo slid past it gracefully. She looked over at Vulcan and Emma where they were, hoping Vulcan would soon jump up on his feet and join the fight. After that Tempo joined, she had began channeling her time slow and the longer the fight took, the more probable was it that Gladiator recovered, if he was not beaten soon "VULCAN!" She called and gestured for him to pick up the pace.

Everyone gets out of the jet and Cable pulls the place apart brick by brick while holding up everyone inside so those on the high floors don't fall and hurt themselves. He kept everything intact, he just needed to get to the Professor quickly and talk to him. He moved his team and the students down towards him with his telekinesis and put the building back together perfectly. "Xavier's school for gifted children that is. Do not be alarmed, we're not here to fight, cause any trouble, threaten you or anything. I'm here to try and prevent a possible future I've witnessed. I have all of my companions, including myself and everyone here secured in a telekinetic shield. No one can get hurt and no one can hurt anyone here. However if you wish then I will drop the shields I have over you and your co-workers. As for the topic at hand, may I ask how you personally feel about mutants? Before you answer sir, know that your answer doesn't affect how we feel about you and there is no verbal response you could give us that would spark any violence from our side."

Santo took what Spider-girl said as a challenge and wanted to attack her right then and there. He didn't though since they were on a jet about to enter some lab, the battle would have to wait. "Girlie, I'm quite sure I could not only touch you but bring a rockslide upon you. But we can test that out after we talk to this human; then after I beat you we can go nurse each others wounds in the bedroom He flashed her a smile showing his white teeth, which didn't appear to be made of stone as far as the eye could see at least. Right after he spoke they went into the building with Cable, Santo found the way Cable took apart the place pretty awesome. Now all he did was wait hoping one of the humans decides to attack
Terrax stood there as Gladiator charged at him, once he was in arms length he fired a blast at point blank range. It knocked Gladiator out of the air allowing Terrax to grab him by his hair and and give him a quick few punches to the face. With tempo slowing him down and his faltered confidence Gladiator wouldn't be able to react to a single strike. Terrax laughed and slammed his foe's head against the ground, he pulled back his Axe and swung it downward slashing into his chest. He did it a few more times until the Shi'ar symbol for Shame was carved in to his torso. Terrax raised his hand up and clenched his fist tightly, as he did so the ground rose up around Gladiator and seemed to swallow him under the crust. "The deed is done"

Professor Archibald Stevens was a white haired elder man, probably in his 60's. There was a faint indication of him being overweighted, but it was next to invisible under the white lab-coat he wore. Spider-Girl studied him and wanted to make comments on his white hair which matched his white coat, maybe say something about the fact that he was not as bald as his name implied, but she refrained and simply stood quiet with her hands behind her back, tapping her foot.
Prof. Stevens moved backwards and sat down in his chair when he witnessed the large group of mutants in front of him. He swallowed his tongue at first, unable to speak simply out of shock. He soon calmed down however and took a few deep breaths "I try not to judge" He said and reached for his glasses, putting them on. A few of these faces, he had seen on TV, or read about, but not many "Your ... kind ... can not be held responsible for the actions of few, if that is what you want me to say?" His words were sincere, although he spoke with great caution. Any one of these people had the power to wreck his entire lab if they were even the slightest annoyed. An incident he could not afford, scientifically or financially.
"I try watching it from the perspective, what if my child was born as a mutant" He after a few moments voiced and took one deep breath after the other, trying to control his nervousness. He waited a while longer before speaking again "What is it you want of me?"

"I want the truth from you, not an answer given out of fear. I swear we mean you no harm, so do not feel like you need to say what you may think we wish to hear. Speak your mind Professor Stevens. I won't tell you our powers for that may make you even more at ease if you knew what some of us could do." Cable was as calm as possible and made sure everyone behind him was the same way. They both looked up there in age a bit, Cable mostly because of everything he's been through since birth. "May I have permission to get closer to you Professor Stevens? What it is that we want is just for mutual understanding, and I don't mean you understand what we do is a crime and that our people are abominations while we understand that you are lesser than us. We see humans as our brothers and we are no more superior to them and vice versa. There does not need to be a war between humans and mutants and your talents would serve a better purpose if you focused on nonviolent studies. What you see behind me are the X-Men and a few students from the school who are all mutants and they know how to use their powers. We use it to save lives, I am here to save lives. Do you remember that mutant that tried his hardest to abolish all weapons of war and hate?"

"A mutant with powers sublime, I remember. Haughty yet majestic. Still, frightening as few. I remember, yes. It was an inspiring notion" Archibald ran his hands through his hair as he bent forward, leaning over his legs where he sat. This mutant spoke of war, or of there not needing to be one. Archibald was a scientist like any other, who simply tried to make his way in life, perhaps make a few technological breakthroughs. He was no warrior, he did not work with the army. Why did this man come to see him? These men, and women "I do not seek war. All I want is to improve the lives of humanity. You and your children are lucky, Nathaniel. You have innate abilities to fend for your own. You who can enter this lab as if it was not even here. The big stone guy behind you who does not ever have to worry about being mugged. All of your children, I am sure has their own ways of managing"
He sat silent, his fingers exploring his hair as he stared at the floor. He looked at Nathaniel then "I research only with the intent to make the world safe for all men, with, or without the notorious X-gene. Like you, I just want to save lives. Not all mutants have your good heart, Mr. Summers. Not all can control their powers. I have seen your kind do great acts of good, but I have also seen it do horrible acts of cruelty. I have lived a long, attentive life. Long enough to not judge a race by its differences, but also know that it is as flawed as any other. You tell me you are humans as well, Mr. Summers"
He scratched his arm as he sat up straight in his chair "Humans hate, harm and murder. It is because you are humans, I feel the need to protect my fellow men. Unlike your stage of human evolution, my stage can not shoot lasers through their eyes. They can not lift a car over their head. They can not catch a bullet. You, like us can hate, but when we hate, a single thought can not level a city block"
Archibald felt the need to defend himself from the words spoken by Nathaniel. This mutant spoke as if they were equals. No matter how much Archibald wanted it to be so, he did not believe it any more. Their value as living beings may be equal, but they themselves were not. This Nathaniel Summers was a kind soul by heart, which brought great peace to Archibald, but it did not change the fact that he picked this lab apart brick by brick. When Nathaniel was gone, who would defend the world should one equal to himself rise in power with intent to conquer, rather than to protect. Surely, his students and students after them would try, but there would come a point when humanity could not rely on mutant kind to save the day.

"The existence of your school, I am vastly grateful for. Yet, you are just one school. You can only embrace so many. You can only train so many. There will always be mutants that you do not know of. I have seen latent mutations awaken and people died. I have seen angry mutants wreck havoc and sad mutants cry people to harm" Archibald sighed as he stood up, resting his hands over his desk and rested his weight on his arms as he leaned over it, staring down at it "Child, I do not judge your kind. I do not hate it, I do not expect your kind to end man kind. I trust your school and I know you X-Men does great good in this world. Sadly, that is not enough"
He paused briefly "It is true that humanity is flawed. We have weapons of great destruction, we have had death camps, we have guns and we have hate. But tell me, child, what is all of that, what is our technology worth when your kind has shape shifters? When you have mind controllers? When you have invisible people, those that teleport or even those that walk through walls?" He sighed and turned to face the group.
"The day you X-Men can not help us anymore, is the day we will need research such as my own. The human race needs to learn to manage on its own. We can not hope that there is a heroic mutant nearby when things go bad"

Vulcan spat on the ground where Gladiator laid to rest. There was nothing more he wanted to do or say seeing as he was lost in the moment of killing Kallark. He used the communicator given to him by D'Ken and his lovely Deathbird. They were transported along with Emma Frost to the Shi'ar Empire. D'Ken himself wondered how they managed to bring along a stray dog, although it was a very beautiful dog and she would be his since he was the soon to be emperor. He walked over to her with a sly look on his face. D'Ken knew exactly what he wanted and Emma was it. "My, my...to what do I owe the pleasure of such a fine gift. Is this a present to your future emperor? You look like you're in bad shape so I'll let Tempo answer for you."

Tempo gasped, breathed rapidly for a few moment as she recovered her stamina. She then looked over at Vulcan and Emma, before looking at D'Ken again "She deserted the X-Men when they faced defeat against us and Vulcan offered her to join our cause. She gladly accepted and is here now. She call herself the White Queen" Tempo asked respectfully and nodded towards D'Ken in respect.
Emma turned to look at Tempo. Time manipulation. She did not like time manipulation. It was unpredictable and there was no way to go against it. Especially when she wore that helmet "That is so, great Emperor to be. It is with great relief I step down as a member of the X-Men and offer myself to your power" She shifted out of Diamond form and bowed down before the man. Her eyes focused on the ground on which they stood, not wanting to do anything that could be interpreted as disrespectful.

"It's a pyrrhic form of luck. We're able to do what no "normal" human can, but along with this gift comes hate and the act of being shunned by those without it. You've seen the wars we had with each other, the crimes committed by Magneto, yet the X-Men and Magneto's best friend was always there to protect you all. I've been to the future and I've seen many alternate timelines and I can assure you that I and the X-Men will always be there to protect you. What you are saying is that you plan on the day for mutants to no longer be here to save you? Even if the X-Men did die, you would still have many who are willing to protect you, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thor, S.H.I.E.L.D. the list goes on. I don't want to reveal much, but you are an enemy of mutants in the future. You assist in the deaths of many of my people, those just like these children behind me. Now me knowing this, there are things I could do to prevent this. This isn't a threat but we both know it's true, I won't do anything but speak to you. There are nonviolent ways to resolve differences Professor Stevens."

D'Ken didn't care about what Deathbird had to say at the moment, his eyes were entranced by Emma and her words pleased him ever so greatly. "Choose your words carefully my Queen, I would love for you to offer yourself to me. How loyal are you?" D'Ken didn't care about the plans at the moment. He only wanted to soil his royal oats within Emma. Lilandra would be dead soon, Gladiator's gone and the X-Men will never think to look for Lilandra in the place that she is. What could go wrong?

Archibald sighed and sat back down as Nathaniel spoke and rested his head in his hands as he once more spoke "You misunderstand, Mr. Summers. You misunderstand all. I am not a violent man. I am not researching future weapons. I am studying ways to keep humanity safe, not bring it into war. The days I speak of is not when the X-Men is dead, but when the X-Men is elsewhere. While you may be in the process of saving our world from an alien invasion, humans are dying. Humans are always dying. Mutants too. My research is based not on weapons, but on shielding and other means of protection and survival. I seek safekeeping, Mr. Summers"
Spider-Girl took a step forward "But sir, protective equipment can also be used in battle" She respectfully commented and Archibald nodded as he looked up at the costumed girl, who strangely enough seemed to be the only one that wore a costume. He could not help but wonder why "True, child, but should humanity really have to depend on you to save our lives every time something happens? You can not be everywhere. Should we lay down our right to defend ourselves, because you feel threatened? Mutant kind may be in peril, but so is the rest of the world. How many mutants die every day in hate crimes? Ten? Twenty? Fifty? Thousands of humans die in never-ending war and violence all across the world, humans killing humans. You may live in this world and you may be in great peril, but you are not the only ones. And you can not save everyone. There are not enough of you for that" He turned silent for a moment, sighing and then looked at Nathaniel "If the choice stands between continuing my dream to see mankind safe, or ceasing my research because of your prophecy, the choice is not very hard. I am sorry, Nathaniel. But rest assured, I want to protect mutant kind as much as I want to protect mankind"
Spider-Girl blushed and lowered her head, taking a step back again. She thought she had him cornered with that question, but like a snake he slithered his way out of it.

High up, very high up in the air did she float above the laboratory. Rose Red. Malice. She listened to Cable speak and she listened to the conversation. She floated in silence and observed those insects, yet this Cable reeked of power. The question was how much power. Was he really a match for her. Mephistopheles believed so. He believed Rose would lose this battle. He would have to reconsider. Mephistopheles would get his soul and he would get it today. For now however, Malice showed patience.
