The only thing that's clear with these scans is that the "marvel powerhouses" are nowhere close to Superman in physical power. Nowadays, the comparison is absurd.

I'm just guessing, but can't he absorb and redirect the kinetic energy a little thanks to that Ikon suit? Like Shaw or Strong Guy?

Otherwise, it really didn't make sense. He's not even Class 10, ffs.

It redirects it.

Last time, in a confined space, it made Superman bleed.

This time, the shockwaves of his punches were hurting Lois who was standing nearby (hence he had to hold back).

DS even taunts him about it.
