If you ask me, Rulk draining Surfer was not all that bad. No wait, hear me out. This was Surfer right after he had just gotten his powers and was completely inexperienced with them. He was also exhausted from fighting Terrax. Also Rulk mentioned how Surfer got his powers drained by Doom, which seemed to imply that whoever created him had attempted to duplicate that power. Sure, it was a plot device, but I can sort of buy it - maybe.
Rulk killing the Grandmaster, however, was completely ridiculous. Especially considering all the reality warping feats he had demonstrated in this very same story arc, Rulk shouldn't have even been able to touch him if he didn't want him to. This was also after Rulk lost Surfer's power. And aren't the Elders of the Universe supposed to be immortal? Galactus deatomized them and they regenerated quickly, but Rulk kills Grandmaster by punching him in the face? Absolutely retarded
Stealing Surfer's powers shouldn't come as a huge feat since it has happened quite a few times throughout history. And yes, this whole book is idiotic, and it's not even 'entertaining' idiotic anymore either.
