Gah. I feel worthless, having not cast my vote in time for Blair to run away with the win. I honestly don't know who I would have voted for, but feel a bit guilty.
Still, congrats Blair. And to Scoob as well. You stopped him from gaining his 3rd title, and entered the elite ranks of those who have won a tourney (you, scoob, and jinzin...there was another a long time ago, but it was before I got here...maybe DC remembers or something).
I always feel better once the Tourneys are finished.... whenever I'm in a round i almost loathe logging on to KMC because I've seen so many people's fightss degrade into slagging matches.
It's often happens between people who generally get along with each other.... I end up having to put so much effort into choosing the right wording so as not to call some (not all) opponents idiots (or worse)
It can be really frustrating when voters or opponents either wont or can't see the logical reasoning you use to conduct these matches
Now that it's over I'm already enjoying KMC ten times more than i have for the last few weeks
Maybe i will have a go at running one of these things... at least that way i wont have to argue with people over interpretations of the rules.... (well... there may be arguments... but i'd have the final say ... )

i may not always agree with you scoob, but even i'll say that you usually do a good job of NOT making things personal. but you're right -- some of these things really get ugly. it's too bad.
Well put. And I understand....it's entirely possible to take apart your opponent while still being respectful. But a lot of people don't seem to see that sometimes.
Anyway, yeah, you'd be a prime candidate for running one of these. But I think, right now, that we should wait quite a while before even thinking about another one. I haven't even been in the last two, and I'm kinda tourney-ed out.
Well, I don't know if its been done before, but how about a fantasy draft? That way all the organizers would have to do is make up a list of characters that fall under whatever caps or specific powers they want, and assign each participant a number and have them pick a character off the list in that order. At least that way there might be equality among the teams and it could save some time in the whole process. Just a thought

All a long way off guys....but stuff to consider when it comes up again. Personally, the fantasy draft thing seems to be a nice idea, though teams would be a b*tch even though they might end up working ok.
Meh, I don't think teams would be bad at all... We'd need a hell of a lot more people and getting everyone registered would be a pain, but after that, it wouldn't be much different. And honestly, how many times have you loved parts of a team and felt like the person screwed him/herself over because of a weak 3rd round draft? It'd eliminate a bunch of otherwise empty fights as well, since we did have a bit of a problem with that this tourney.

It actually might make the tourney shorter (a good thing probably). If there's only 8 teams of 2 or something, that's one less round of fights to deal with.
The next one should also probably be multi-level. We can't exactly have a beyond-Skyfather tourney, and we've exhausted the other levels (herald, (upper limit) street level, and "Iron Man"). Something akin to the older tourney (was it SS that ran it?) but have them fight separate rather than together (since it just becomes a battle of herald-levelers otherwise).
Maybe we could do a comic quiz tourney instead of a roleplay for a change
A team of orginisers could submit the questions and it would be a buzzer type answer format.... though to do that both participants would need to be online at the same time......hmmmm
