kirsten dunst is not beautiful and sandman is not the ultimate supervillain, in most peoples opinion. Its Venom, he's naturally matched up to Spiderman since he's cool. ask anyone that isnt a comicbook nerd and the ultimate villain is Venom

I agree. Why ARE we getting Gwen now? Unless they're setting it during the events of Spider-Man 1, between Uncle Ben's death and the Goblin fiasco be fore he sees MJ again.

Well normally I would be elated about this news that my favorite supporting character of the spider-man comics Gwen Stacy is going to be in a sequel and finally get her due since those jerks left her out of the 90's toon, but seeing as how they screwed up mary janes character making her nothing at all like the mj from the comics by making her much more like gwen stacy,they will probably go and make Gwen Stacys character either like Mj or like spideys sister said,the deliquent trouble maker they made her into in the ultimate spiderman comics. At first when I heard this news from both here and the shh boards,I was elated that finally my favorite supporting character of the spidey comics the gorgeous Gwen Stacy was finally making it to the screen,but after looking at the pics of that girl Howard who they have cast for the role,that elation is gone for good.I mean that girl is UGLY. Raimi has got to be on drugs,first he goes and casts a blond for MJ,NOW we get a red head for Gwen Stacy. God they have got to stop making sequels and restart the whole thing over again the same way they did with Batman,thats the only way the Spidey comics will ever get justice on the big screen.

I've been racking my brain to try to think how he got to the conclusion that a ginger girl with short red hair and red freckles that isn't very attractive should play an attractive smooth-skinned blonde.....and I haven't come up with a single reason besides the following:

Well it was either that or the one from the comics and im sorry but if you took the green goblin from the comic page straight onto the big screen, far worse comments would be said. And Bryce Howard is not ugly, what a mean thing to say. She has the eyes to pull off a Gwen, the makeup department will handle everything else
lol, fair doo's. I agree with you though that Mary Jane does not really fill the shoes of MJ what's so ever and i believe that tobey has no personality of spidey either. Jake Gyllenhaal woulda been a far better choice.
I think Tobey's ok..I just wish they didn't write him as such a whining little pussy. He should complain a little bit but not this much. Over half of the series so far has been him complaining about MJ...I can't take another film of it, especially if they're together lol.

It was a practicale armored suit. i thought it looked fine. Besides, one knock from spidey and that suit is gonna loose a few microchips
But yeah maybe it coulda been done better. But i personaly think the 'power ranger' term on this forum has been used too often.
