you people complain to much about any movie sometimes what do you expect for all movies to be oscar winning material if thats what you expect out of all horror movies well dont bother expecting anything then.
Yah well ill complain about anymovie i want and hostel sucks worse than any recent horror out there its too over hyped and didnt dleiver anything that all these sucky promos told us it would
It wasn't a good film for me. I don't watch horror for porn scenes i watch them for good fast paced gorey horror. Hostel didn't deliver. Ive seen much gorier films and just when it got somewhat interesting it finished.
Thought it was ok, it took too long to get to the gore and violence and there was not enough, however I did enjoy the eye spunk ( ) and those women were the f@ckin' hotness.
Checked Hostel out yesterday. It's indeed overhyped and sure it could have been better, but goddamnn I had a blast with this movie!
Once the shit hits the fan, this movie rises far above all other recent horrors and even comes close to the classics on some points.
Not perfect, but a very good ride in my book.

yeah, once the horror got into play it was cool. I went into the movie with a bad attitude that it was gonna suck. You probably heard that it was AWESOME, but no new movies are awesome really. I just think it was very good for a modern horror movie. Beats the hell outta all these damn remakes
Yeah that's a lot how I felt too. I recently saw it at the Dollar theater expecting the worse and came out quite surprised. Already the very first scene was creepy, when all you could hear was some guy whistling and scrubbing as all that is seen is some blood being drained down a nasty looking room. And the long setup with the guys at the beginning worked because it fleshed them out tremendously, so that when they began getting picked off it made the payoff of each so much better. And some of the stuff that the movie showed, I can't believe the MPAA let them get away with it, especially the eye scene. That was pretty sick That was something I certainly didn't expect seeing in the movie, and not exactly sure if I want to see something like that again lol.
There was one scene that really stood out, and it's been mentioned in other media reviews as well. It's when that one guy begins talking to the other about that girl he couldn't save as a child. It really made the last few scenes work in the movie work IMO.
So overall good movie. Plus those two main girls were smoking. It certainly was a bonus to see them in the flesh, so to speak lol.

Yeah, the eye scene......my dad and I burst into laughter. I kinda made the mistake by going with my dad........but after all the sex I started to feel comfortable, hahahah

Here is my opinion: You might as well go out and rent a porno. Yep. The first half of the movie was nothing but sex and I about threw up from it all. I barely stayed and the only reason I didn't walk out of it was because I paid money for my ticket and it was too late for a refund. Horrible film, and I cannot believe they're going to be making a second one.

I will say I have seen sicker films in my time but Hostel was still a great film. I know some people didn't like it because it took too long getting to the violence, but I thought it was definitely worth the wait. besides its great how the director made it look like it's not going to be a horror at all and then all of a sudden we're treated to some great torture scenes. I personally can't wait for the sequel to this film.
