He doesn't have enough peronality and presence needed to portray Bond. And all the others except Lazenby and Dalton had it. They did get back to the more realistic Bond like Connery was, all the others were more show like Moore and Brosnan, given their backgrounds, Moore as the Saint and Brosnan as Remmington Steel. Connery was more about what a real spy could be and Craig was chosen to go back to that. But I'm only afraid that he doesn't have 'that which Connery had and the others as well except the ones previously mentioned.

And you base that opinion off of what?

Did you see Munich, or Layer Cake?

If not, go check them out, both good films, both have great performances from Daniel Craig.

(Munich as a supporting actor, Layer Cake as the lead.)

I did see them, good performances but you can't base it on that. He just doesn't look the part and the fact that there are bond fans out there trying to boicot the film by posting on their sites, the disagreement on having Daniel Craig as the new Bond is proof of it. Nicolas Cage is a good actor and he was once said to be the new superman and everybody was like "WHAT?!", he is a good actor and he might have played it well but he simply did not look the part, Daniel Craig is just like that, he's a good actor, a proof of it as well is his performance in the Jacket as a supporting actor on Adrien Brody, but he just doesn't look the part no matter what a damn good actor he is.

To be honest, I dont think you can base it on how he "looks." I think you just need to see the film before making any calls -- I just think we all are going to be in for a surprise. Did you read the Entertainment Weekly article?

Just give the man a chance. Most of the opinions are based upon nothing, or upon "I don't like his face..."

Childish. Then again, James Bond is of course for little children. There are some great James Bond movies, movies I really like, but the majority is predictable, boring and "more of the same".

Fans will say this is part of the charm. I say it is predictable, boring and more of the same.

Daniel Craig's gay kiss

Daniel Craig is sure to shock Bond fans with his latest film where he shares a kiss with another man.

The actor, who debuts as 007 in 'Casino Royale' this November, shares an onscreen kiss with another chap in a new film entitled 'Infamous' - which documents the life of author Truman Capote.

In the movie, Craig plays convicted killer Perry Smith and his character has a relationship with Capote, played by British actor Toby Jones.

The film, which is already being tipped for Oscar success, closes with the pair sharing a passionate kiss in Smith's prison cell.

Jones remarked recently: "I never dreamed I would kiss James Bond."

eek!

That was the thing that was so horrible about Brosnans performance as Bond was that he acted no different than his character on Remington steele,he didnt act like Bond at all.He was always being the same as he was as his character on remington steele. It was like he forgot he was playing another character or something.for that reason,Im glad he is no longer Bond anymore. Happy Dance

I've; read several Ian Flemming books when I was younger, Mr.Craig looks too much like the villans that Bond had trouble with until he eliminated them in the end. My opinion only, but to me he does not even look British as per Mr. Flemming's description, he looks more Eastern European. ex-communist Speznaz hiried out as a mercenary. You have my two cents.

Exactly if you see one of Craigs's earlier movies, it is called "The Power of One". He plays a southafrican nazi who treats black people badly and that's how I see him. If they made yet another Hitler movie he'd be great as a German assasin because he has the look.

Yeah saw it and still he's the german nazi in my head. He could play an agent of the Gestapo and be very convincing.

nope probably buy the pirated copy.......J/K....no i won't buy piracy and you guys shouldn't either be good boys and save up money, I will join my other hardcore fans of 007 and not watch the movie. I'll probably check it out when it comes out on DVD but I'll wait and see, if my grandfather likes it (who btw is a the most hardcore fan of James Bond I know, he's got all the novels and stuff save one). If he likes Daniel Craig I'll probably check it out with him but in the meantime my answer is no I won't see it.

Fair enough.

I'll be sure to report here. stick out tongue

I'm kinda in the same league as your grandpa, Sean Connery is the best Bond to me.

I like 2 of Moore's (Golden Gun, and the one where Dr. Quinn plays terrot cards), and 2 of Brosnans (Goldeneye, and TWINO).

My favorite films though, are the first 4 with Sean Connery. That's Bond at his best. (to me, anyway)

I've read some of the Flemming novels, not all, and enjoyed those too.

It seems that the producers are working hard to get back to the book's feel.

We'll see.

As for being a german Nazi, I guess I can see that, but to me the image that jumps in my head when you say "Daniel Craig" is from Layer Cake:

A british gangster.

Which, if the story is about taking a rough-around-the-edges soldier who kills and making him a super-spy.....

Just might work.

I'm hopefull, I like Bond, and I won't boycott the best looking new Bond film in many years because of the guy's hair color or facial features.

Cheers.

Will we as a fans ever just sit back and enjoy the ride? I am a huge bond fan but I refuse to get on the bandwagon and bash Mr.
Craig. Before Pierce Brosnan got the role as Bond people were bashing him and saying he wouldn't cut it as Bond and Brosnan ended up doing quite well as Bond. Enough with the bashing! Let's reserve judgement for when the film actually comes out.

Honestly? As long as the guy has the personality and persona of what is Bond I could care less. As long as Judi Dench is M, I'm happy.
