Its better that he;s ugly though instead of a pretty boy like Brosnan was. That was another thing that always bothered me about Brosnan as Bond was he was way too much of a pretty boy.

Well if you take the reality part in, spy's are not people that attract attention. A spy looking like Brad Pitt would never pass undetected or without attracting attention. It is most likely that the guy standing on the corner with the nerdy glasses and the oversized tummy is the spy waiting to put a bullet in your head...
Depends on what the spy needs to do. In Bond's case, he has to be able to manipulate people, and its easier to do that if you are better looking and charming.
With that said, I think he was fine. Not once did I think during the movie, "He doesn't look like Bond." He gave best performance ever in a Bond film IMO. Many people say Connery is Bond, or he is the best Bond, but that is simply because he did it first. If all of the actors portrayed their version of Bond and we had no idea who came first, I think most people would say Craig did the best.

I'd say Brosnan would be considered a pretty boy in his first and 2nd Bond films (by the end he obviously aged a bit). He was more smooth looking than the previous Bonds. Connery is known as an attractive guy, but even he had a a pretty rugged look with the large dimples in his face (its more of a bone structure thing).

i saw the movie with 4 friends 3 out of 4 said it was the worst bond movie ever,2 of them said craig was horrible,i hated the movie and i think craig was a good actor but not bond for me,i did not once feel like i was in a bond movie,i have reserved judgement because i did not see it but now that i did oh i wish i had my 2hrs and 42 minutes back
Craig did a wonderful job IMO. He managed to bring convincing emotions and vulnerability to the character, while also displaying a solid and realistic determination. He liberated the Bond character from it's silly getting cartoon image and made him human again. And he kicks ass like no Bond ever before.
Please don't compare Craig to Moore because Craig has surpassed him in everyway. Bond was ruthless in Casino Royale, he was a loose cannon but we also saw the side of Bond that was Vulnerable to women. I thought Craig fit the bill perfectly.

i am not allowed my opinon huh,its ok but dont insult me it only makes you look stupid, the fact is i saw it with 4 people and the majority said it sucked, the movie was horrible craig was not so bad but he is not bond! the thought of him doing another one is not that bad if the story was good, this movie takes a villian and plot and goes nowhere it gets boring to the point of the plot disapearing and never coming back,it should have ended around a half an hour earlier

Casino Royale is a great spy film, realistic and well thought out but for me Craig is a very convincing spy, a very close portrait of what a spy should be, but IMO he's not James Bond. The actor that portrays Bond has got to say "The name's Bond, James Bond" in a way that makes you feel like "Woah! Yeah!"...and when he says that I felt nothing, even though I really liked the movie and the first part of the film was great in the embassy. But he just didn't do it for me, he did act the part very well but he just didn't feel like it. I can assure you many people feel the same way, it is a VERY GOOD film, but it just doesn't feel Bond at all which might be a good change into a more realistic world of a spy like Connery started out, with no gadgets just his wits and his gun. It is a good start I just hope the next film is better because I felt the ending was a bit rushed, too many things happening to Bond in in a very short period of time.
