BLAST. The whole scene is ruby-red.
Bad-ass enough to impress Wolverine.

His blasts arent solar in nature... yes he absorbs solar energy, but what happens is the solar energy opens a dimensional portal in his eyes. The portal opens to a universe that consists of nothing but the ruby coloured energy he fires. The energy escapes through his eyes, creating an optic blast. The blasts do NOT give off heat or radiation, they are pure concussive force, nothing else...
Speed and Accuracy...
In Uncanny X-Men #93 Cyclops fights Quicksilver, and Quicksilver himself remarks that only his speed saved him from being hit by Cyclops...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...lvers speed.jpg
In Uncanny X-Men #124, while trapped in murderworld, Cyclops clears out a room of machines with just one blast...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...murderworld.jpg
Uncanny #144, using only one optic blast he sinks every ball on a pool table...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...6562502pool.jpg
In Uncanny #152, he deflects his blast off three surfaces to hit Sebastian Shaw, and push him towards the waiting Colossus...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...astian Shaw.jpg
In Uncanny #170, he flips a coin, and blasts the centre out of it, leaving only the outer edge intact...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...3125004coin.jpg
In X-Men #112, he fires, deflecting his blast round a corner to take out two waiting enemies...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...25005corner.jpg
Again in X-Men #112, he fires past Magneto, hitting Magneto's helmet, which rebounds and strikes Magneto...

X-Men #137, he fires, breaking Redneck's nose but not causing any other damage, then he fires a second blast that breaks Radian's leg...

http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...X-Men137-15.jpg
His visor...
Even though the most common way Cyclops activates his visor is by pressing a button beside his ear, he has on occasion used other means...
Uncanny X-Men #93, he fires his blasts simply by opening his eyes after keeping them closed for a prolonged amount of time... not exactly practical but it works..
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...longed time.jpg
Uncanny X-Men #95, Cyclops opens his visor by simply opening his eyes fully...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...sor opening.jpg
In Uncanny X-Men #96, he does the same again...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...or opening1.jpg
In New X-Men #114, he casually stands firing at a sentinel with his hands at his sides...
http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...or opening2.jpg
People may argue that these instances could be attributed to the artists' habits, but i believe there are far too many instances to discount the possibility that his visor may open without the side button being pressed, that the button itself is merely used to change the intensity of the blast...
at least thats my theory...
Hand to Hand/Powered Combat...
In Uncanny X-Men #127, he baits Wolverine into attacking him because of his fear of Wolverine's ability against Proteus, and Cyclops holds his own, even dodging Logan's Claws...

http://www.thefreeimagehosting.com/...25002claws1.jpg
In Uncanny #175, defeats 6 x-men who believe he is phoenix... he defeats them all over the course of several pages, and with cracked ribs to boot...

While not all these are combat based events, these pictures do show an amazing versatility and mastery of his powers.
Not a single one of those images works.... they've all "expired"
Use Imageshack in the future:
http://www.imageshack.us/
(Just as well BA's on the ball enough to use photobucket or i wouldn't have seen any Cyclops images here)

I'm not such a big Cyclops fan but I have to admit he's really pulled his weight as a leader so I respect him.

Cyclops has long been my favorite X-man, but reccently I've caught the Wolverine fever as well, though I still like Spiderman better, but now I remember why I liked Cyclops so much and have always had faith in him.
That's why I hate the way the leader of the xmen is protrayed on screen, like a little whiney wuss.

respect Cyclops request...
* my friend got some cool Cyke feats but don't got a scanner so here's a request to those who have the comic and the scanner...
* X-men #44, Sept. 1995 - Cyke leads the remaining Acolytes, pretty impressive how they found there way home by Cyke's exceptional leadership...
* Factor X #3, May 1995 - one-eyed Cyke cuts a monster in two, at point blank range...
* Uncanny X-men #339, Dec. 1996 - wrestles with Havok and outsmarting him by blasting his "anti-grav unit"...
* X-men #23, Aug. 1993 - fights the Dark Riders all by himself... i believe this comic was the first issue where the 3rd Summers brother was mentioned, c/o Mr. Sinister, correct me if i'm wrong...
* don't know the issue, but there's a comic where Cyke defeats the Mother Sentinel, Mastermold, by outsmarting it...
* thanks!

it's heavily implied that cyclops is the x-men that will destroy breakworld...that's some power.
