Horsemen vs Avengers
So here are the teams:
The Horsemen of Apocalypse:
-Mikhail Rasputin (Matter manipulator, superhuman strength and endurance)
-Abyss (Strands to ensnare victims, telepathy, strength drain)
-Holocaust (Superhuman strength, invulnerability, microwave blasts, lifeforce drain)
-Mister Sinister (Cellular-control over his body, regeneration, telekinesis, telepathy, injury resistance, immortal)
Avengers:
-Ironman (Armors have an array of weapons, superhuman strength, superhuman fortitude, flight)
-Quicksilver (Superspeed)
-Hawkeye (An array of special arrows)
-Vision (Ability to change his density)
-Beast (Enhanced agility, strength and endurance)
-Professor Hulk (Superhuman strength, durability and healing factor)
-Scarlet Witch (Ability to effect the probabilities)
And here are the scenarios:
-1. No prep at all
-2. Avengers have 1 day of prep, Horsemen have none
-3. Both have 1 day
-4. One week for the Avengers, 3 days for Horsemen
Personally I would put my moneys on The Horsemen of Apocalypse, although Avengers do have a chance in every scenario, especially in number 2. Avengers are going to have rough time with Holocaust and Mister Sinister...

The Horsemen take one and three, Avengers two and the fourth one could go either way. Without Ironman, the Avengers would stand no chance.

And Thor was intentionally left out. Avengers still, however, have chances of winning because of Ironman as you mentioned.
When Avengers have prep they are allowed to use the resources of Anthony Stark, but lest the match go unfair they are not allowed to call reinforcements.
The Horsemen also have resources and Mister Sinister sure knows how to plan fights.

Here goes my version of this fight. The feud is based on the scenario 2.
The day of prep of course partially goes to studying their enemies since they really don't know anything about each other. And following equipment would be purchased (also includes some general preparations) :
-Ironman would get his Hulkbuster armor and would install all the information of the enemies to computer system of his armor.
-Vision would reload his batteries so that he will be able to use his maximum capacity and he would also download all the information of the enemies to his brains.
-Beast would just study his enemies and do some normal exercise and revise fighting strategies.
-Hawkeye would take some arrows causing sonic disruption in addition to his normal arrows.
-Hulk would keep himself ready and motivated just like Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver.
And then to the battle itself:
Vision puts his density down and goes to fight Mikhail Rasputin by partially solidifying inside him and trading blows whenever possible.
Scarlet Witch would use her chaos bolts to hurt and disturb Abyss while Hawkeye would use his extremely effective sonic disruption arrows on him (At least Banshee managed to cause serious damage to Abyss via sonic disruption).
Ironman would fight Holocaust by dodging his attacks and weakening the armor.
Meanwhile Beast and Quicksilver would keep Mister Sinister busy by constant attacks so that he cannot concentrate (After all this is a surprise attack since the Horsemen are not aware of the situation before they see the Avengers).
Soon Vision would kill or defeat Mikhail and go help on destroying Holcaust's armor. When that is done Ironman would simply scatter Holocaust's energy form all over the world just like he did to Living Laser.
After this Ironman would go fight Sinister and Vision would go destroy Abyss. The remaining members of The Horsemen of Apocalypse wouldn't be able to win at that point...
Of course that was just one possible course of action, please post yours.

Scenario 2. Takes place in a ruined city scene.
The Avengers stand nestled on both sides of the scar formed by the grotesque ruins of the ravaged city. What used to be a concrete suburb is now a smoldering crater where only the cornermost buildings remain standing. Hidden within the rubble, the seven pairs of eyes inspect the warily proceeding Horsemen. The ghastly landscape awakens to the sounds of combat as the first attack wave of the carefully planned strike burst out.
Quicksilver's speed dazzles the Horsemen who are completely taken by surprise. Quicksilver follows Stark's plan and flashes to bash his first target, Mister Sinister. For his amazing iniative, he gets the first strike, the second, third and fourth before the Horsemen even realise they are under attack. As Mihail prepares to liquidate the cumbersome youngester, he is taken by surprise as well, when Vision, at his most solid form weighing an unbearable amount drops heels first on him, knocking him out of balance and striking him to the ground.
Mister Sinister reacts, releasing a psychic bolt at Quicksilver, but is shot to the back of his head by Hawkeye. A concussive blast goes off, hurling Sinister's mutated body across the street and to the rubble.
Holocaust has fired an atomic bolt at Vision, when a pair of mighty, green hands reach for him from behind the former building's front wall and grab him inside where the titans may contest their mettle undisturbed, and soon the air is filled with might smashes and cracks as the two strongest warriors engage in melée combat.
Abyss has reached Hawkeye and sucked him inside his dark dimension within seconds. He has lashed out a panic wave that hit the Scarlet Witch and Beast who were waiting for their turns behind the fallen debris. She runs animously out of hiding and out of the battle scene, when Anthony Stark, trying to stay focused, releases his repulsor fire on the fiendish creature - soon noticing his blast went through the foe's incorporeal build.
The ground turns into soft goo under Vision, who falls knee-deep in before he has the chance to switch back to his nigh-aerial form. Mikhail rasputin ceases the opportunity and drives a burst of suddenly altering molecular structures through Vision partially shredding his loose particles apart. Vision shouts, alarmed as he becomes corporeal again, and finds soon he has been played out - Mihail strikes him down with a construction beam. As the powerful Russian prepares to finish off his foe, the sconstruction beam is heaved off his grab. A low, rumbling "you won't be needing this" can be heard, as Hulk smashes him with the very same beam like a baseball, sending him flying through the air and hitting the wall across the street and collapsing th building atop the matter manipulator.
Iron Man manages to land a critical blow on the very face of his demonic opponent, Abyss, who is struck out cold, and Iron Man hurries to help Hulk, who has been taken by surprise by Sinister, who is strangling him with a mental attack!
At this point, on the battle field there are Hulk, Sinister and Iron Man, who engage in combat as Sinister combats Iron Man with his telekinesis while suppressing Hulk by the power of his mind. The Scarlet Witch and Beast beagin to regain their mind and rush to help their comrades when Mihail rises from the rubble and with a thought collapses a standing wall of rubble on the pair. Hank McCoy grabs Wanda Maximoff and save them both just in time. But Mihail is not done, and the very earth turns to great fists reaching to grab its victims. Beast dodges for a while while Wanda begins hurling bolts of condensed chaos at Mihail, but Hank's agility is too little and he gets caught and Wanda rolls for cover just in time from under another collapsing mountain of debris - Beast does not get so lucky. In her wrath and frustration Wanda engages in combat with Mihail, using her magic and mutant powers to counter Mihail's matter manipulation, and they stalemate in a test of skill and wit.
Meanwhile Sinister temporarily removes Iron Man with his telekinesis, sending him through the landscape with a hit of a brick wall chunk. As he concentrates to destroy Hulk's mind, he finds that the mind of the green goliath is like a raging ocean and the boiling point has been reached. The fury and rage of Hulk explode into a mindless bloodlust, and against Sinister's logic, the Hulk gets up, grabs his foe and crushes him with blazing hatred.
Iron Man collects himself and rushes to help Wanda. Together the three take out Mihail but not without effort.
And therefore the Avengers win the second instance.
