I see your point, but it all depends on how you look at it.

American Psycho is more than his sexuality, it's a stab at the Yuppie culture and it shows a person descending into madness. Yes, his sexuality plays an important part, but it's vital to show his character for what he is. An animal. Nothing more. I haven't seen Babel or Gia so I can't comment. stick out tongue

Why not look at an actress being captured from all angles, while nude, as a tribute to the work of art she is?

yeah. neither is babel but yes sexuality plays a big part in it too.
