From what I've read, it appears that Rampage and Evans are going to the coaches for the next season of the Ultimate Fighter (HWs I think) in September. And it appears Machida's first title defense will be against Rua.

Im a both a shogun and machida fan but im not sure Shogun is ready just yet. At least he should have one more fight before the title fight, maybe against someone like Cane or Jardine.

I agree, the problem that I think Dana sees is that Cane isn't a big enough name yet, Jardine is coming off a loss (and if he would beat Rua then he'd be on a 1 win, win streak) Forrest is facing Silva and if he loses then he can't face Machida, and if he won the fight, then Machida would be out of action for too long, Rampage and Rashad are tied up with TUF,Wanderlei is moving to 185 I believe, so there really isn't too many names available. I also thinks Dana wants to capitalize on Rua's win streak right now, because he is still coming back from surgery and hasn't faced a fighter in his prime since the Forrest fight.
It'll be a tuff task for Machida since Shogun I think is the most well rounded fighter out of Machida's previous opponents. I just hope he (Shogun) comes into the fight in great shape and injury free.
Yeah Jon Jones embarrassed Bonner and all of his strikes are unpredictable which is something you definitely need if you are going to face Machida. I just hope he does something about his cardio, his performance in the Bonner fight would have been even better.
LOL Im surprised he did. I think its a good move for him if he wants reall mma fans to take him seriously. Hopefully he'll end up on Rampage's team. He could use Rampage's experience. I'll watch that season for sure. Hopefully he wont get eliminated on the season premiere.

I'm interested to see how he conducts himself in the house. From what I've heard he is pretty humble, I hope they show him talking to Dana White after all the **** White said about Kimbo in Elite XC. I hope he does fairly well. He gets ripped on pretty badly from his fights in elite XC yet it was Elite that hyped him up to be the next Fedor.
