I don't think Bulls was ever retconned, per se. Greatest Hits was a practical joke on the fans (and a pretty damn funny one at that) and his origin in DD 131 was shown to be largely a fabrication in the same issue. The only official origin for him which has been backed up in DD 49 was presented in Elektra 2. I think it was supposed to be fully revealed in the target but we all know that's never going passed issue 1...

now back to Bullseye.
while it was a movie adaption of several years of comic history shoved into a few hours and interpreted in a way the audiance that has never read a comic understands, ive got to say i thought Collin Farrel gave him some good justiuce.
my favorite scene is on a plane, Bullseye is experiencing the ultimate mid-air passenger problem: an annoying old lady next to him who won't SHUT UP!!! He tries to turn the volume on his Discman up, but that doesn't work much. His next tactic is opening his little bag of peanuts. He takes one out, lines it up, and bounces if off of the seat in front of the lady and into her throat, suffocating her. After she's done choking, Bullseye smells the death of her, reveling in the silence. He sits back and pushes her head off of his shoulder. A stewardess comes up, and she sees that the old lady has fallen asleep. She asks if Bullseye needs anything, and he says, "More peanuts, please."

I like how he's kind of in the same category as crossbones in that he doesn't exactly have powers beyond the aforementioned physical enhancements and yet he still manages to inspire fear and severely hurt or kill characters that theoretically outmatch him. Hell, he effectively took out Captain America without ever being detected.

I also like the fact that (as mentioned in a different thread), the panel of Bullseye skewering Gambit with a sai to me represents the end of the 90's dark ages of comics.

ah, now were gettin somewhere. yes i agree, one of the best facts about him is that he isnt overpowered and is fallible. he's the kind of guy Thor should be able to drop with a punch, yet, he roles with the big boys and his main reason for getting away with that is willpower and skill. i hope we see him and Barton go head-to-head by the end of DR.
he deserves a better class of opponent than Solo.

Anyone have theories on an origin they want to share?

sadly, nothing to get to hyper about here. like all of the fights
in this series, this one didnt pan out at all. supposed to be
Bullseye Vs Archangel. Theres a few feats here though regardless.
Bullseye drops a long ways from an airship, landing onto
his feet, and dodges multiple blasts from Cyclops in a "Dare
Devil-esque" series of flawless movements and flips at the same
time drawing his bow (while upside down in air) and firing off three
arrows. Cyclops, who has tagged Quicksilver and Northstar in speed runs,
cant get a hit on him... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...dus_001_006.jpg
..Bullseyes arrows hit there marks as always. someone (Emma? christ this art.)
turns into a solid form, breaking one arrow but not before the other goes through her arm,
and the third goes into Anoles gut. Cyclops recognizes Bullseye as a major threat and
heavy hitter.Archangel (in Angel form) swoops in and carries Bullseye off by his arrow
holster... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...dus_001_007.jpg
...a little later, Angel drops Bullseye on land and on his head (after the page one display
thats a little weird but okay, sure). In a panel Bullseye has flipped to his feet and has his
bow drawn and three arrows ready to go. He is confronted by Angel, now in armored horseman mode.
Bullseys fires off his arrows as Archangel fires his metal feathers back.
End of Bullseyes involvement in the issue... http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y1...dus_001_010.jpg
not as bad as the Daken Vs X-23 fight on the alt cover that never happened of the last
ish, the Colossus Vs Venom rematch that didnt happen, nor the Namor Vs Sentry match on
this issues alt cover that never panned out, but dam guys, get your game back up
to speed here.lol.

thanks, and yep your right Cyke took out the arrow. wow, good feat for him actually in that too. i didnt think it was Emma, is just cant tell who its supposed to be given the art there. its not Mercury im sure, and Husk hasnt been with them for awhile, so thats sort of lost on me who that is (anyone know?lol). man...i just wasnt satisfied with the lack of outcome there either way. i was expecting a little more at least from the big one shot issue you know?
and thanks again, context corrected.

What did you expect? It's Fraction. Actually he surprised me a bit (just a bit) with that issue... I mean, it didn't suck THAT much. I enjoyed only the tie-ins to Utopia, like Dark X-Men The Beginning and X-Men Legacy.
very nice. didnt catch the ricochet arrow in that Deadpool either.
lol. sadly with Fraction that could be. will have to wait to edit my post until the times up. Bullseye is gunning for Venom in the next Sinister Spider-Man, should be interesting, that book is pretty violent.

In DR TL Avengers it is strongly hinted that Lester has a healing factor. I don't think I like it. To me it seems like Bendis skimmed through some recent books Bullseye made a cameo in and deduced that he has this power...
Wait to edit? Doesn't work that way. You've to ask Digi or Tron.
Thanks for the info, I'll catch up with Venom. Stopped reading after issue #1 because of the horrible art.
me neither. and a few others. takes away from him too much. and they retcon his origin that he's a Weapon X or something im going to puke.

Are you referring to Clint's comments? Because when Deadpool impaled him he almost died iirc and had to spend some time in a hospital with some IV's plugged into him. I heard Osborn has some tech. that helped him heal.

I wouldnt be surprised if it were revealed that BE has some sort of enhance drug ala sss or something. For him to survive the adamantium process, and several brutal beatings. Plus the power in which he throws his projectiles is uncanny. I mean really. How does one flick a toothpick, again, flick a toothpick a football field away, through a glass window, and kill someone. A football field away.
The hook didn't hit any major organs, that is how he survived.
H.A.M.M.E.R. physicians helped him fully recover, that's right.
But look, Clint could've riddled him with so many bullets that no tech would help him. Instead he pretty much reasoned it would be pointless. Enjoyable, but pointless.
