I never made a statement about it's quality, aside from the statement I jokingly made at the end of my post. Obviously, hype doesn't warrant GOTY, as Galaxy was barely hyped, if at all.
Yet hype most certainly does sell games, which is why I believe Brawl will surpass Galaxy in sales. That was my only argument.
And you never know, it might join the ranks of Galaxy and Bioshock in terms of quality.
I know, I am excited for the game and will buy it day one. I just didnt agree cosmic's comment that Brawl is the most hyped game of the year, I'd say its no higher than 3rd.
- GTA will be huge for the sake of it being GTA, its the first big change to formula since GTA III, plus its a year overdue.
- Metal Gear is the game every PS3 lover and hater has been waiting for since PS3 was announced. Its Sony's Halo and nearly every PS3 owner will snatch it up.
- Brawl is huge, but of the 3 game its probably advanced the least over the its previous game. But I still cant wait.
True, GTA gets by on merit from there other games.
MGS has become a mainstream institution in the gaming world, even if its hard to figure out what the hell is going on plot wise.
Brawl has many features and is tantalising us by inserting new stages game modes, stage editors, music and fighters from classic gaming series.
However if the rumor is true and like MGS2, the Xbox 360 gets the game as well then well...good times.
Just being GTA doesn't mean it's more hyped than Brawl. GTA's supposed to be released in spring, (about a month and a half from now), and you see virtually zip about it on IGN or Gamespot, yet there's a Brawl screen on the main page of both sites almost every day, and it's always in their top 10 hottest games.
Street Fighter 4 has more hype than GTA or MG. Brawl has way more hype than SF.
Those may your most anticipated titles, but not necessarily the most widely anticipated.
