i thought that was a stupid ****in' reason, to be honest. part of evolving to survive included turning into energy. sure, fine, whatever. merging with vulcan? plot-device, but okay. absorbing remnants of his dead teammates, to the point where he could give vulcan access to their mutant powers, through a pseudo-sentient landmass? what?

I like Vulcan but him having energy projection at level 7 is funny since even Tyrant's level was only at 6.

yeah, the sheer amount of hugely powerful energy people in marvel tends to make me think vulcan isnt level 7... unless he goes and takes gladiator apart in the next uncanny, then i'll believe it...

Nicely said...but to be fair Energy Projection being 7 isn't anything to shout about.

A character who manipulates all energy but can only project enough to power one light bulb will still be rated at 7.

While a God who's limited to one type of energy but who is also able to create enough energy to destroy a universe will be stuck at 3.

IIRC All telepaths are rated as 4.(Could be 5)

Maybe it's reaction speed as opposed to flight speed?

I would think his strength would be higher, as well...Since most energy manipulators can amp up their stats.
