I have mastered 2 of Bruce Irvings' 10 hit combos. The same dude i won it all with in '96. I've got a feeling that the Tekken glory days will be upon me once again. And those 2 10 hit combos are just the begining. He has more than 100 different moves. (all the players do) but Bruce is my ticket.
I beat the game (Tekken 6, "wierd last boss..") twice already with Bruce, once last night and this morning before work using nothing but that 10 hitter just to imprint the move into my mind and hand muscles even more so than before.
The games' version, (like pt. 6 in particular) is starting to become a big deal in my circle. And I wanna be the one to take back my belt after more than 10 years. And be the Tekken King, as we call it.

dude lol.. no one uses 10-hit combos in a tourney and wins.. where are you from?
anyways.. I recommend not doing 10 hits.. they're very predictable and can easily cost you a match... I'm sure you can find your glory using bruces 98 other moves
and.. 96?.. isnt that tekken 1?.. not even sure if bruce was on the scene then
I mean i won't use 'em all the time or like back to back. Like i'll throw/grapple or use hit combos and do other things but i gots to use that 10 hitter, no doubt. And i mean if anything i can just cancel the combo midway if it's not justifiable. But they're mad deadly. If you get caught by one of those ten hitters exactly 75% of your energy is gone. And that's not including striking you when your on the floor.
maybe i can demonstrate it on you..
And Tekken 2 came out on Aug 1996 for playstation 1. Bruce was an ulockable (new) character in the game.

ha,..kinda. Tekken King. Long story short I won this multi-street tekken 2 tournament a whole bunch of us organized and held. We all had tekken fever and played constantly all the time and there was too much bickering and flase claims of who was the best and record rigging so we created this tournament. I came out victorious and won the championship and all the bs ended. It was my most memorable and favorite video game experience ever. I always called my self the tekken champion alot in front of others afterwards and there was nothing no one could say. it was sweet.
I remember the exact moment i won like it was yesterday. I had bruce manny had kazuya whom was far from me so i charged/ran towards him and headbutted in the gut (w/bruce) causing kazuya to violently roll back pretty far and i charged again, he got up and i smashed dead into again, lol, causing that tekken explosion that happens when your dealt the final blow along with kazuya's wail followed by the "KO!", and all you heard was "Oohhh!", omg's! and people laughing. The place went crazy. Manny closed his eyes dropped the controller and held his head in shock. I grabbed the (WWF) tekken belt by the tv, I stood up on the chair, face the crowd, raised both arms, controller one hand belt in the other and just started shouting "WHAT!!" over and over and over again.
And my goal with this game is to capture that title again. Enough delays. I've been think about this ever since i heard tekken was coming out for the 360. That's when i saw my chance for hard comeback.
I have plans. I'm gonna be the one to create the new tournament for 2009. I'll even host it at my house. And i'm gonna declare that it'll be for the same belt i won in 96.
So that day will come back. i'm sick of people coming up to me and claiming bs and asking to challenge me when i haven't really played since pt2 really.. So it's time now.
But you gave me a good idea. the title of the tekken champion will not be called the tekken king anymore, but the 2009 Tekken King of the Iron Fist.

-you can block the entire thing if you call yourself a pro
-with the above said, they can be punished
also, if you're up against characters like paul / jun / asuka.. youll be reversal'ed lickety split
pros dont get hit by 10-hit combos.. I think they're just there these days, or quite possibly for use in juggles?.. I'm not certain.. but I do know that 10-hits have been garbage since tekken 2
you 'could' demonstrate it on me.. but all I have to do is go to training mode once, and learn the high low mid game to bruces combos, block the crap out of them and punish.. fighting games are pretty harsh in this aspect unfortunately
as for tekken 6.. I cant imagine how much better the rest of the cast is compared to bruce.. I mean.. I wish you the best on your quest and everything, but high level tekken play is pretty damn brutal these days
as for my chars of choice.. I usually play paul since they killed off jun kazama.. -_- .. but I play a lil jin / hwoarang on the side
Miguel is looking to be my character of choice for 6.. unless paul isnt exactly the damn same for the 6th game in a row.. /sigh
and I wouldnt mind battling you on netplay or anything.. but I advise against 10 hitters as your main strategy.. you'd be better off sticking to juggle opportunities, with like quick 5 hitters or less on the side
a money match of bruce vs feng
note that neither of them are 10-hitting.. I mean I know you were saying you could stop it half way.. but even if you do, they are going to recover faster from blocking than you are from stopping the combo
The basic 10 hit strings are just for show. SRSLY. You can block some strikes, low parry others, reverse, SS, etc. Heck, even the T5 AI on its higher levels will block & counter you stopping the string dead in its tracks.
Same goes for the basic throws. They're easily escaped every single time if you know how to do so and have sufficient reaction time. Even Attack Reversal can be reversed itself.
Unless you play against people who have no idea what they are doing of course...
You're better off sticking with juggling for combos. Bounding (iirc) just further punishes. It's all about deception leading to Oki's and juggles.

I had my T6 since yesterday. I haven't really played it cuz I'm low on time these days, but the arcade stick is well worth the 150$. I'm
lovin' this shit and gonna play the hell outta it this weekend.
Tho, the boss not only sticks out from the rest of the game (really ridiculous in appearance), he's pretty easy. The few last rounds are harder than he is. Can anyone get an FG boss right these days?

played t6 with 2 of my cousins last night from around 11p.m. to 4:30am.
i kicked azz but they adjusted to the 10 hitters and just duck after hit #4 and low kick but i did catch 'em every once in a while with the move. but i was most just catching them with this 4 hit punch combo i do where the last hit's an exploding jumping elbow smash to the face so hard it makes opponents bodies twirl in the air.
But my (brief) review of the fighters i've played so far are as goes:
Miguel sucks. Lei Wu Long's still the man. (i even read that he can shoot his gun) I won with Bob (fatboy) but i didn't like his style. Feng is the sh*t, wow. What is he a monk or something? Baek still brings the house down. I can't stand Law and Eddie Gordo. Still the cheapest characters in tekken. Only scrubs pick them, to me. Never cared much for Kazuya and Jin (and Devil) or Paul. Brian's got slower but still powerful. I wanna try heihachi, i'll try him today.
But i want to master playing with Bruce and Lei Wu long. And Feng has really, really caught my attention. I wanna tool around with King too.

Lars is really cool.. and I love Leo's fighting style
Miguel fights very unexpected and I like it.. not sure if I'm going to main him..
Zafinas fighting style is just really pretty to look at.. and bob.. wow.. I didnt expect him to move like that at all
I found the bosconovich hoe to be quite retarded.. chainsaws flyin out her arms, jetpacking everywhere during a grab.. my eyes couldnt roll hard enough..
but so far so good.. gonna play with more people soon...
Eddie isn't cheap . Your cousins are probably mashers if you think he is cheap .
Bob was a powerhouse in T6. They toned him down for BR. That's the version (BR Bob) you are playing with iirc.
Paul's a risk/reward fighter. So unless you take risks, you aren't getting far with him. Kazuya, I don't know why you don't like him.
Favorite? Paul. Who I like playing with? Paul, Kazuya, Jin, Steve, Nina, Feng, Hwoarang, Law, & Devil Jin...in that order.
Last I heard, Law was great in T6, and Bob was almost broken. Steve's no longer the top gun like he was in T5. Law's probably taken that spot.
~ Looks like the ****s still treat Paul as a joke character >__>.
