Alrighty, what does everyone think about Apocalypse? I mean, this wraps up the latest series, and its actually been a few years, so let's talk about it a tad?
[SPOILER - highlight to read]:
1. Okay, at first I thought it was foolish that they brought back the mortis, and the father/daughter/son aspect of CWs. Now though, it actually makes me happy. It means, Anakin really WAS supposed to bring balance to the force. He was the chosen one. But he didn't. He didn't out of selfishness, and now the force still isn't in balance. Really, this kinda undoes all the good done in ROTJ, but it explains the nonstop war since. As soon as Anakin died, the opportunity to bring balance was lost and the galaxy has slid towards darkness.
2. Believe it or not, way too much fighting. and non-conclusive too... Obviously Abeloth is probably the most powerful being in the mythos. (other than the daughter/father/son who are already dead). This book/series probably helped Luke's "status" as a lightsaber fighter, but didn't change his force positioning one way or another. His opponent was too untouchable to make him look bad, and his victories were too hard-fought, or tilted in his favor to make him look that good. (though I was impressed, but I'm a fanboy, and I recognize this.)
3. Too bad about Vestara and Ben. I was actually cheering for them. Well-written. Actually maybe not enough about how it affected Ben.
4. I still don't give a rat's ass about Allana....
5. Jaina/Jag. Meh. That story was cute about 3 book series ago, so what, like 2006?
6. What the hell do Kyp, Kyle, and most of those Jedi masters even do? They always get listed in the list of masters, and its always a decently long list, and then the only ones who ever DO anything are Saba/Luke/Jaina/Horns/Ben/Leia. I mean, why?
6. Who was the random dude who showed up to help Luke kill his version of Abeloth? Like, really? Deus Ex Machina much? Probably part of the Korriban sith I guess?
7. Where to next? I mean, what is there left to write about? We know the whole galaxy collapses to the Sith within something like 40 years, right? So whatever they do next, they are just setting themselves up for failure. The Keshiri Sith's power is broken. We can't have another story about a Jedi falling to the dark side. We can't have another story about the Chiss and Killiks. I just can't imagine what they can put on the back cover of the next book moving forward in that timeline that would make me interested enough to read it. How about you? What would you like to see? Is there anything?
so abeloth [SPOILER - highlight to read]: ALMOST killed Krayt and Luke Skywalker at the same time. impressive. how do you know? The description wasn't very conclusive.
we don't ever talk to him. But we are friendly to new people because Rex said we have to. But then Ush says that we shouldn't talk to new people because they are all Gideon. It is so confusing. It is hard. It is so hard. so hard. And I want to talk about this book dammit.
"[SPOILER - highlight to read]: The random dude is Krayt" is not a discussion.
No one knows. It's weird too, bcaused they are punished with excommunication. Whatever that means. But we can't talk to them... even if we aren't sure that they are.
If someone gets banned, sometimes they'll just make a new account and keep posting. A 'spare sock' if you will.
Gideon was a very prominant member of this forum who was banned for a retarded reason and made some socks to keep gracing us with his manly and sexy presence.
