IIRC Star Wars was merely a homage to the old republic shows that Lucas used to watch as a boy, not a rip off. Eragon steals entire characters, themes, organisations and large tracts of plot. Like when the Hero and his morally grey side-kick rescue the [SPOILER - highlight to read]: Princess from the Eeeevil Empire. Or when the kindly old man who is really a hero of the rebellion and an ex-Jedidragonrider hands the Hero a sword that later turns out to have been his fathers, said old man having been his bestest friend before he turned against the Noble and Heroic order of peacekeeping knights, lured to the darkside with promises of Unlimited Powar!!! I can go on about this.

Also: 'You know, an overweight nerd with too much power and absolutely zero shame once said “When you do…a sequel that’s very, very anticipated, people anticipate ultimately that it’s going to be the Second Coming. And it’s not. It’s just a movie. Just like the other movies. You probably have fond memories of the other movies. But if you went back and looked at them, they might not hold up the same way your memory holds up.” And who was that shameless, pudgy nerd? George mother****ing Lucas.
The quote comes from an interview he gave on the new Indiana Jones movie and serves as a preemptive “Eat Shit” to anyone who plans on being disappointed by the latest installment. Now, is George Lucas right or is he, as some writers have speculated, “an overweight nerd with too much power and absolutely zero shame”? Well, he goes pretty far with that quote. He’s basically saying “Hey everybody, this new movie is probably gonna blow but, if you really think about it, the movies that came before it kind of blew, too. Suck it, America.” I’d like to say he’s just cynical, because I’d like to be really believe that Twondock Saints will be awesome. But he is George Lucas, and if there’s one person on this planet who would know a thing or two about disappointing sequels, it would be him.'
Douche...

I noticed that the graph cut off before the 30s. I wonder what about the Great Depression was so different that made it not valid to include in the data? Oh right, it would make this look less like the end of the world, which wouldn't be as good for propaganda.
Just finished watching Prince of Persia, bloody brilliant

Prince of Persia was ok if you forgot to think. It had great action scenes and good acting but being a video game movie, it lacked any real depth. In all, one of the few good video game movies.
Um red, the 30's pretty much was the end of the world.
You are calling job charts propaganda now? How about the fact that Obama wasn't in charge in 2007? It seemed to me that the graph was taking a shot at Bush. You got all defensive for no reason.
Yeah, Mario clearly would have been a better movie.

you just put your entire post in a quote. Difficult to quote. adding the 30s makes the current situation look any less serious 80 years later? Hardly.
And I don't care what Beefington wrote, unless i'm reading it incorrectly, his graph is for 2007. Red snap judgement reacted to something that doesn't make Obama look bad anyway.
No, that's just a graph that doesn't include the 30s. However, if you want I CAN include the 30s and show you how much more shit we're in than than the Great Depression, and how much worse it's going to get while Bernanke prolongs this bullshit with zero interest rates.
