Part 1
Ben Urich vs New York Underworld
After receiving a tip off that a serious deal was about to go down between New York's Kingpin of crime and a politician, Ben Urich sneaks into one of the offices of Fisk enterprises and begins taking pictures of Wilson Fisk and a foreign Ambassador.
Urich feels that he has stumbled upon the story of a lifetime and seeing as the ever unreliable Peter Parker was unavailable, Urich begins taking pictures.
The discussion between Fisk and the Ambassador becomes so heated that Fisk snaps the Ambassador's neck.
"NO!" Ben shouts and gives himself away. Fisk and several armed men turn and spot the hidden Urich, who flees through the fire escape. As Ben reaches the roof a hail of gunshots follow him, ripping through his trench-coat and narrowly missing him. Urich leaps from the space between two roofs and just reaches the distance with several armed men in tow, opening fire.
Screaming for his life, Urich slides down the drain pipe on the side of a building and runs through the crowded streets, Several men in pursuit. Back at Fisk Enterprises, Wilson Fisk clicks his fingers and a phone is passed to him.
"Hello Skull. You owe me after that incident at New York Airport. I need to reclaim that debt." Fisk then dials a new number. "Is Elektra still running the Hand? No? Good, then I need words with their leader of the New York division...."
Urich hastily pulls the film from his camera, places it in an envelope addressed to the Bugle and shoves it in the mail. He carries on down towards Nelson and Murdock. Urich reaches the front door and knocks as a one of Kingpin's henchmen places a gun tot he back of his skull.
"Get out of my Kitchen!!!!" A voice from the roof shouts and a red clad figure leaps down.
Daredevil clubs the man across the back of the head, knocking him out. He then pushes his front door open and shoves Urich inside. He closes the door behind Urich as a hail of bullets rip into the door. Foggy Nelson helps Ben to his feet.
"Will Matt be ok? Urich asks.
"He does this all the time." Foggy calmly states, walking Urich into the Kitchen as Ben explains what has happened.
Outside Daredevil forward flips over the front of a car as numerous bullets rip into the back of it. From one side he throws his club, spinning through the air where it bounces off a henchman's wrist, breaking his arm. Two men run towards Daredevil from either side of the car but Daredevil is far too quick, kicking one in the jaw and nerve pinching the other.
Only one henchman remains but before he can even fire his gun, Daredevil grabs his wrist, breaking it and then elbows the man in the face, taking him down.
After the fight and alerting the cops, Daredevil returns to Foggy and Ben.
"Matt, I need you to get me into protective custody before things get further out of hand." Ben Urich pleads......

Part 2
Ben Urich vs the Hand and an Avenger's villain
"Matt, I need you to get me into protective custody before things get further out of hand." Ben Urich pleads.
Daredevil arranges for Ben Urich to be transported into police custody before the situation deteriorates even further. Worried that Ben will be killed by more of the Kingpin's henchmen if a police escort collects Urich, Daredevil decides to oversee the transfer.
At Fisk Enterprises, Wilson Fisk clicks his fingers and a phone is passed to him.

In the dead of night, Police officials at the nearest station, await Ben Urich. On the roof of Murdock and Nelson, Daredevil stands on the edge of his skylight, Ben Urich holding onto his back.
Daredevil leaps from rooftop, to rooftop, fires his grappling wire and swings across a city block. From nowhere an arrow whizzes through the air and Daredevil twists his body, allowing himself and Urich to avoid the arrow. Daredevil lands gracefully on a large open rooftop. Glass shatters from a higher neighbouring window and 30 hand ninjas leap down, confronting the duo.
Daredevil pushes Urich away and bravely leaps forward into numerous ninjas. He wildly swings his clubs around, taking down a few ninjas and breaking a ninjas jaw with his foot. However a few ninjas get past Daredevil and locked in battle, he is unable to get to Urich's aid.
Ben turns on his heels and runs to the rooftop edge and leaps to the nearby roof. He falls short but manages to grab the roof edge and pulling himself up, carries on running towards the police station. In hot pursuit, numerous hand ninjas effortlessly chase him. Urich reaches the roof before the police station but before he can reach his destination, the Hand have caught up. An arrow embeds itself in his shoulder and two sword wielding assailants leap forward, one of them screaming "WHERE IS THE FILM OF THE FISK MURDER, URICH!!!"
At that moment gunshots ring out and the two fall dead. Gunshots spray across into several hand ninjas as the Punisher runs forward firing a semiautomatic. One of the approaching ninjas manages to cut the Punisher's gun in half but at the same time the Punisher withdraws a pistol, shooting him in the face. He then throws the man's dead body into a few of the remaining ninjas.
Urich leaps across to the police station roof and enters through a doorway. Descending down the stairs, he notices something has gone terribly wrong.
All the police inside are dead. All have been shot. Urich walks through the building, hesitating at every corner. One of the dead officers had managed to activate a local SHIELD distress call. Maybe help would arrive. Suddenly the ceiling above collapses and Daredevil falls through, with several Hand ninjas in tow. Punching the last one of them to the ground, a gasping Daredevil grabs him by the neck at shouts, "DID YOU DO THIS?!!!"
A bullet hits Daredevil in the back, knocking him to the ground and Crossbones walks forwards from the Shadows.
"No, I did. Hello Mr Urich. My employer, will be most pleased that I have found you. We cannot allow you to live with proof of Mr Fisk's activities."
Crossbone's raises his pistol at Urich at point blank range. THe gun is shot out of his hand by the Punisher. In quick retaliation, Crossbone's withdraws and tosses a throwing knife which lodges itself in the Punisher's arm. Before Frank can react. Crossbones breaks his wrist and punches him across the face. Punisher is out cold.
Urich begins to run. picking up the Punisher's pistol, Crossbone's takes aim. A shield soars through the air, bouncing off walls before hitting Crossbones in the back of the head.....

Part 3
Ben Urich vs Numerous Avenger's foes
In the destroyed Police station, Crossbones stands over Punisher and Daredevil, holding Ben Urich at gunpoint. Urich begins to run away. Crossbone's takes aim. A shield soars through the air, bouncing off walls before hitting Crossbones in the back of the head. Crossbones is dazed.
Quickly recovering, Crossbones reaches for the twin pistols stored at his sides. Before he can, Captain America punches him to the ground. Urich looks back.
"I picked up on the SHIELD distress signal. Avengers Mansion is around the corner. Use the password SRogers1922." Cap then kneels down to feel for Daredevil's pulse.
Urich runs down the stairs and reaches the main entrance to the police station. Bursting through the front door, he turns the corner and heads towards Avenger's mansion. The top window of the police station shatters as Captain America falls through it, followed by Crossbones who fires twin pistols at Cap. Before he even lands, Cap protects himself with his shield from the barrage of bullets and then throws his shield at Crossbones, knocking one of the pistols from his hand.
Both combatants land on their feet. Crossbones raises his remaining pistol to Cap's face but Cap's shield rebounds into the back of Crossbones' knee, breaking his leg. Crossbones falls to the floor and is relieved of his pain by a knockout punch from Cap.
Urich runs down the street, pulling out the arrow from his shoulder. He reaches Avenger's mansion and uses the password to gain entry. Immediately upon entrance, he is held up by a shotgun wielding butler.
"Ben Urich?"
"Y..Yes."
Jarvis lowers his gun. "My apologies sir. I am Edwin Jarvis. Avenger's aid. We've been expecting you. You're in a very dangerous position sir. Please come with me."
At this moment the front of the mansion explodes sending the two men flying back into heap on the floor. Mr Hyde, Whirlwind and Klaw.
Helping Ben to his feet, Jarvis and Urich begin to run down a hallway away from the villains.
"Skull and Kingpin want you dead, Urich. You don't stand a chance!"
Whirlwind spins through the air and begins flying at great speeds towards the two men. Suddenly a purple arrow flies straight at Whirlwind. It lodges itself into his head for a split second then explodes, sending the villain to the ground. Hawkeye steps forward and raises his bow at the other villains.
Klaw fires sonic beams across the mansion, shaking the entire building, causing Hawkeye to perform several acrobatic flips away from debris. This only stops after an intangible hand phases through Klaw's head, knocking him out. Vision floats over the unconscious fiend.
Jarvis quickly escorts Urich away from the violence until the Wall next to them caves in revealing Mr Hyde, who reaches out for Urich. Jarvis unloads his shotgun into Mr Hyde's face, angering him and he knocks Jarvis away with a backhanded swipe. To every ones surprise, Jarvis doesn't become a smear on the wall but is caught by Thor.
Summoning a lightning Storm, Thor brings down the full force of the thunder and lightning on Mr Hyde pummeling him into submission.
Captain America and Iron-man arrive to find the mansion is completely wrecked. Iron-man is the first to respond.
"We can't look after you here Mr Urich. Someone very high up wants you out of the picture and they'll do anything to get it done. We're taking you to someone I would trust with my own life. Reed Richards. The Baxter building has some of the most advanced defence systems on the planet"
Ben Urich nodded. Looking at the unconscious super villains, he never realised how far the Kingpin's influence could stretch.
In a hidden underground location, Kingpin confronts the Red Skull.
"My informants tell me your henchmen failed Skull. I'm at my wits end here. I'll owe you if you help here."
Kingpin clenched his fists. Tears welled up in his eyes.
"I..I have reason to believe this man has evidence that could put me away for ever. I will lose everything, my wife, my life, my empire. Help me....please."
Red Skull hesitated.
"He's in Avenger's custody now. It's very unlikely he will be killed or his evidence destroyed now. You'll be dead by tomorrow, Fisk."
Fisk was desperate. "Anything, Skull, you can have my empire, for my freedom...please....my wife..."
Skull smiled. "I can't help you. But I know someone who can. If anyone can, it's him."
A large monitor switches on revealing a live video link to Dr Doom!

Part 4
Ben Urich vs Dr Doom
In the Baxter building, Ben Urich is playing with Franklin and Valeria Richards. Reed's family had shown great hospitality in the last few hours and although the FF had gone on a mission into the negative zone, they had left Urich and the children in one of the safest places on the planet. The Baxter building.
The peace of the building is disturbed by a noise from downstairs. Urich descends to the lowest level, the entrance lobby, to find three dead security guards and several smashed robots. Dr Doom stands in the entrance. Terrified, Ben backs away slowly and bumps into something behind. Another Dr Doom.
The first Doom announces "TARGET LOCKED" before firing an energy blast at Urich. Already terrified, Urich had collapsed to the floor and the energy blast flies right over his head and hits the second Dr Doom, tearing him in half. A pair of legs remain with numerous wires sticking out. A robot!
Panicking, Urich flees to the lift, with the robot in hot pursuit. Urich enters the lift and goes to the same floor as Franklin and Valeria. Urich had barely exited the lift when it explodes, knocking him flying forwards in a sprawling heap. The Doombot emerges from the lift wreckage, swatting several FF robot defences aside, including HERBIE.
The Doombot opens fire on Urich as energy blasts cut through the walls. Running into a nearby room to avoid the blast, Urich hides behind a large piece of machinery, realising he must be in Reed Richards laboratory!!! The Doombot enters the room and fires an energy blast at the machine destroying it. Urich is no longer behind the machine but is reaching Franklin and Valeria. Alarms start ringing over the building.
With the destruction of the machine, an invisible force field around the planet slowly shuts down. Far away in space, Galactus sets a course for Earth.
Urich reaches the children and drags them down a corridor, looking for a safe hiding place. The floor shakes and the Doombot flies through the ground, destroying it. Ben and the children fall, landing in the room with the portal to the negative zone. Getting to their feet, Urich pushes the kids behind himself as the Doombot flies down to meet them. It locks onto Urich's location.
"TARGET LO..." The Doombot's sentence is cut short by a gigantic, rocky, orange fist the falls down on the top of the robot's head, caving it in. Ben Grimm and the rest of the FF emerge from the negative zone to greet them.
As the FF treat Urich and the children Reed is disturbed by the source of the alarm. His fears are justified as the sky turns red and Galactus descends towards the middle of New York!!!!!

LOL I'm glad you're enjoying it. Crazy is the perfect word to describe it. I wanted to have a story from the man on the street where, he's not on the street. Everything's out of his control. He's about to face a cosmic force of nature that consumes planets!!!!

Part PART 5/THE FINALE!!!!
Ben Urich vs Galactus!!!!
Reed Richard's gasps as the sky turns red and Galactus descends slowly in the heart of New York, near to the Baxter Building. He begins to assemble a gigantic machine.
"Mr Urich, that machine, destroyed by the Doombots that attacked you. It was designed to cloak Earth's presence from Galactus. It served to shield Earth from his presence an in return, Galactus would not consume the Earth. That pact is now broken."
Heeding the FF distress signal, numerous heroes begin to attack Galactus and he slowly descends towards the ground. Iron-man flies around the giant being, firing his repulsor rays, whilst the Invisible Woman and the Human Torch aid in the onslaught with their own attacks. Captain America's shield bounces off Galactus' leg with no effect and Cyclops's energy blasts go unnoticed by the behemoth. Colossus throws Wolverine into Galactus' side as Thor and the Thing slam into his chest. Galactus barely notices them, occasionally swatting away Thor and grabbing Wonderman and Vision in his massive fists.
Galactus' feet begins to reach the ground and an innocent bystander looks up at the foot coming down on him. He closes his eyes an opens them again to reveal radioactive green pupils. The Hulk enters the fray, smashing into Galactus' foot.
Panicking, Urich tries to drag the children to safety. He runs through the Baxter Building corridors with a child under each arm, searching for the FF teleporter.
Thor's hammer smashes into Galactus' side, causing the cosmic being to stumble. Galactus reaches out and leans on the Baxter building for support, his giant arm, crashing through the sky scraper. His hand descends through several floors, debris raining down everywhere, Urich shields the children as the gigantic hand is about to squash them. Susan Storm generates a force field at the last possible second, saving their lives. Checking they're safety, she rejoins the battle.
Urich runs into Reed's lab and bumps into a man mountain, bowling him over. Wilson Fisk stand over Urich, desperation across his face.
"WHERE'S THE FILM, URICH? YOU'D BETTER HAVE THE PHOTOS OF ME, FOR YOUR SAKE."
"You're too late. I've sent the pictures to the Bugle. You're finished."
Urich braces for impact when Fisk raises his fists into the air, ready to pound Ben into the ground. From behind Fisk, someone coughs. Fisk wheels around to find Daredevil clicking his knuckles.
"Urich, I had to retrieve this for Richards but it looks like you could use the help. Get this to Reed." Daredevil states, throwing a small device to Ben. Ben leaves the room. Fisk looks at Daredevil and bars his teeth. Daredevil smiles.
"Urich's right. You're finished."
Upon the roof of the Baxter Building, Ben Urich stands watching the battle for the planet. Dr Strange is casting incantations interfering with the large machines. Galactus has pinned Hercules who struggles beneath his large hand, but Storm and Nightcrawler are on top of Galactus' head, attacking the massive helmet.
Whilst scanning the fight, Urich, desperately searching Reed, from his vantage point, accidentally activates the device. It whirs to life, arming itself. Galactus is drawn away from the battle and turns his complete attention upon Urich. He takes several giant steps until his face is level with Urich, on top of the Baxter Building.
Human. Do you know what is in your hands? One of the most powerful objects in creation. An object created by Reed Richards with the object to destroy me. It is called the Ultimate Nullifier With the merest of thoughts I could end your life yet you dare to oppose me??? Explain yourself!!! Galactus roars with a voice so loud it nearly blows Urich off the building.
Composing himself, Urich responds.
"Excuse me....sir. I know why you are here. You need to eat this planet to survive. Over the last few days I've learnt the value of survival. I've been forced to flee for my life, avoiding every available threat at every opportunity. Just like you I have been driven by my instinct to survive. Fight or flight. Not being as powerful, I have been forced to flee. Now, for the first time in.....ever, I have the power to stop a threat and I'm ready to fight. You could wipe me out with the merest thought? I could destroy you and everything else with the press of a button.
Your turn to flee."
Galactus hesitates for several seconds before responding. I will leave. However our feud has just begun Benjamin Urich, for I now count you amongst the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the X-men and the other Marvels that threaten me as they stride across this planet. This is not over."
And with that, Galactus leaves the Earth.
Epilogue:
Ben Urich is commemorated for his bravery in the face of total annihilation. Wilson Fisk is imprisoned thanks to the photographic evidence........
..........and Urich has had the biggest story of his life for the Daily Bugle.
Ok, basic premise. Through whatever means, Darkseid has captured Bruce Wayne and is holding him on Apokolips. A strike team of Superman and five other leaguers has gone to get him back. As they step ouot of the boom tube, an army of parademons basically lands in their lap, and it kicks off.
Notes: This is pre DOTNG Darkseid. Just standard, Owaw, Return of Supergirl Darkseid.
Also, this was originally written for an RP, so if it seems to jump in parts, just pretend a scene with other characters happened in between. I have formatted it as best i can without destroying the original content, though.
Clark walked at a steady pace, never faltering as the army came down on him. He'd swat one, fry another with his heat vision, then flash freeze another before shattering the poor unfortunate with the slightest flick of his wrist. He was a walking pressure cooker of rage and anger, and he was directing it at Darkseid and his armies. He'd get that bastard, he would.
He was only stopped when a veritable mountain of parademons piled on to him, trying to slow him down. Moments later, it was as if a shockwave had emanated from the man of steel, and several of the parademons were launched miles in to the air. He would not stop, he would not fail. He would get the job done.
Activating his vision powers, he began searching. Seconds later, he found it. Bruce, in a chamber not far from here. Being watched over by Granny, the Female Furies, Desaad, and DARKSEID. Oh, this was going to be good. A small smile threatened to cross his lips as Kal launched himself in to the air, heading toward the large building like a missile. Parademons who got in his way were little more than bugs on a windshield as he forced his way through.
Smashing through the wall, Kal floated in to the chamber, the assembled New Gods turning to view him. The furies licked their lips and purred in anticipation, but Darkseid was as cool as could be.
"Ah, Kryptonian. You are here for the human, i presume?"
Kal visibly growled.
"I'm taking that man home to Earth."
"I do not think so," the Lord of Apokolips responded, his eyes glowing red.
"We'll see about that..."
"Shall we deal with this insect, oh great lord Darkseid?"
Granny was practically salivating at the thought of her furies ripping the Kryptonian limb from limb. They all began to spread out, surrounding Kal. Superman's head barely turned, his ears more than enough to detect the heartbeats of the vile warriors that now surrounded him.
"No, my minions. I will deal with this annoyance, myself."
The furies began to back away, moving back towards the stasis/torture chamber that held the Batman within. Kal wondered if they knew who Bruce actually was, or if they were doing this just for the fun of it. It could have been either, but Kal had to make sure the game wasn't given away.
It was then that he caught her scent on the air. Diana. He hadn't been listening for her, as he'd been concentrating on the furies, but there she was. Majestic and wonderful in her own way. Like a summer breeze, strawberries, and a million things in between. He openly smiled for the first time since he'd arrived. An instant later, the other end of the room seemed to explode as Diana entered the room.
The furies howled and screamed as they attacked her, but even though in the past they might have been a match for her, the Amazon seemed to be a woman on a mission. Stompa went down first, Diana skillfully dodging her punch before using an over the shoulder throw to toss the large Fury through about five walls. Gilotina was next, but her usually penetrating blades were no match for Diana's bracelets. A swift kick to the gut, and another fury was down.
Kal turned back to face Darkseid, realising that now was the time. He he launched himself at the bastard who had gotten in to bed with Lex to. The planet itself seemed to quiver in fear as the titan stumbled, the punch that had connected with his jaw sending him stumbling back.
"You dare?!"
"You're damn right i do."
Superman launched himself at Darkseid again, only for the monster to catch him with a backhand, sending him through a nearby wall. Turning to his furies, Darkseid pointed at Diana.
"Dispose of her quickly."
"Yes Lord Darkseid," they all replied in an eerie synchronism.
As Darkseid disappeared behind the rubble of the partially collapsed wall, the furies screamed their battle cry as they approached the amazon. Lashina was first, her whips lashing out at Diana. While the first was successfully blocked, the second managed to wrap around the amazon's wrist. Bernadeth saw an opening and lept forward, only to be on the receiving end of a sharp elbow to the throat, leaving her down on the ground gasping for air. All that remained now where Lashina and Mad Harriet, and Diana seemed to fancy her odds.
Outside, the very planet shook with every blow as Superman and Darkseid traded punches. Superman had the slight advantage in speed, but Darkseid could take more of a beating than the man of steel. Their strength, though? That was about equal, and as Darkseid caught Kal with an uppercut, the kryptonian was knocked flat on to his back. His costume was ripped some, one sleeve almost completely torn off, and his cape had taken a beating too.
"Do you not see, Kal-El, that i am superior in ever way. Even if my furies fail me, i will still have your head as a trophy."
Kal had gotten on to all hours, trying to catch his breath. He was about to try and stand up, when he felt a sharp pain in his ribs. Darkseid had kicked him hard, and Superman was sent several feet away, rolling as he hit the ground, again coming up on to his hands and knees. Looking up, he took his attention off Darkseid for a moment, and concentrated on the chamber. There she was. Diana. Magnificent as she was beautiful. She was handling the female furies brilliantly. She'd picked up a couple of cuts from the furies' bladed weaponry, but nothing too severe.
Lashina was still hanging on to Diana, but while Lashina was strong, Diana was stronger. Swinging like she did so often with her lasso, Lashina was sent hurtling in to a control panel near Bruce's chamber, causing it to explode, taking her out with it. Mad Harriet was now the only one left to face her.
There was a beat where both women simply stared at each other. Then, Harriet broke in to a sprint, only to be caught with a jumping kick to the chin, sending her spinning through the air before colliding upside down with a wall like something out of a cartoon. The furies defeated, she went to the chamber Bruce was in.
Glad that Diana was ok and had succeeded, Kal got his second wind, and slowly got to his feet, smiling some. Rolling up his remaining sleeve, he looked at Darkseid.
"Heh. You know something, Darkseid? My pa once told me that there were people on my world, on any world, that think far too much of themselves, and that in the end, they got what was coming to them. He was right. Me? I'm here to give you yours."
And he was off. Like an olympic sprinter, Kal was on him, ducking a large swing before unleashing a flurry of blows to Darkseid gut before hitting him with the haymaker to end all haymakers. The lord of Apokolips, as Kal had been earlier, was knocked off his feet, flying back several meters before crashing to the ground with an almighty thump.
Looking up in to the room where Bruce had been kept, Kal managed to let out a sigh of relief an instant before the right side of his face was struck by Darkseid's fist. He was thrown in to a spin, falling back some. For a moment, he felt like his face had caved in, but a quick check proved that it wasn't. There was just a gash from the impact. His lip was bleeding too, and one of his eye sockets was beginning to swell. His rubs were bruised, possibly broken, but he still had plenty in the tank, and he knew that he'd given as good as he'd gotten.
Darkseid's stony visage was cracked in several places, and his upper right arm was damaged to an extent that it had never been. Darkseid's eyes glowed, his omega effect ready to be unleashed on Superman if he so wished it. His own pride, though, was stopping him from going as far as he needed to go. He didn't want to simply destroy Superman, he wanted to show him the meaning of true victory: To show your opponent you are superior and that they were wrong to ever oppose you in the first place. He wondered if the kryptonian could ever feel that. If not, Darkseid would make him.
The mad tyrant lurched forward, ready to deliver the killing blow. His fist swung like a mighty hammer, ready to finally make Superman submit to him...
"No... Impossible... You can't..."
Darkseid's fist had been stopped inches from Superman's face by the Kryptonian's own hand.
"Watch me."
Kal pushed with all his might, his legs propelling him forward. He rose a couple of feet in to the air, his fist strong and true as it struck the lord of Apokolips square in the middle of his face.
The very earth seemed to shatter around them, an enormous crater opening up beneath their feet. If they kept this up, Apokolips itself might have been in danger. Kal didn't care, though. Someone had to put a stop to this monster, and if it had to be him, and it had to be now, then so be it.
Standing over the fallen Darkseid, whose face was smashed from the blow, Superman spoke with conviction.
"I'm going to make sure you never terrorise another human being. Not one. NOT EVER."
Kal turned, looking up, back at the chamber where Wonder Woman had freed their badly injured teammate.
For a split second, Kal was distracted, allowing Darkseid to get back on his feet. The next thing he knew, he was sent flying by the punch he felt strike his lower back, his spine almost snapping in half with the impact. Rolling a bit before spinning on to his front, Kal's fingers dug in to the ground as he slid, a combination of his toes and hands slowing him enough to get some momentum back. He rocketed back towards Darkseid, only to be caught by a large backhand yet again. This time it was his own jaw that broke his fall as he crashed in to the steadily growing crater.
Spitting the dirt from his mouth, Kal got back up on to one knee, spinning just in time to see Darkseid bearing down on him. Kal's eyes turned red as the colour of his cape before he unleashed blasts of energy that would have made a sun sweat. Darkseid staggered back, the pain of his burning flesh more than he had been prepared for.
"Diana," he shouted loud enough for her to hear. "Get him OUT of here NOW!"
In the crater, things were escalating quickly. Both men stood facing each other, catching their breath. Kal's costume was ripped to the extent that he was now completely topless. His chest, back and arms were covered in cuts, dried blood surrounding most of the wounds. Darkseid wasn't faring too much better. His stony skin was cracked and mangled, like a jackhammer had been taken to some pavement and let loose. Both men's eyes were on fire, ready to annihilate the other at a moment's notice. Or at least try to.
"I am done toying with you, mortal."
Darkseid's eyes flashed, energy pouring out of them headed straight for the man of steel. Superman's eyes followed suit, and the collision of energy that followed would lit up the darkest corners of the universe.
"You cannot defeat me. I am eternal. I am your death and your god. I can erase you and your pitiful band from existence."
"Too bad you can't shut up about it."
Moving as fast as he could, Kal turned off his heat vision, dodging the energy blast from Darkseid as it flew over his shoulder. Leaping forward, Kal crashed in to Darkseid's chest with a forward kick, the impact enough to make his enemy stumble. This had the added effect of making Darkseid cease his energy attack. Moving in to try and put his enemy down for good, Kal raised his right hand, ready to strike...
The blast was stronger than any that had hit him so far, and he was stunned for a moment. No, not Darkseid, but Kal. The lack of a yellow sun was finally beginning to take it's toll, and his reserves were all but empty. He hadn't put down this bastard quickly enough, and it was coming back to haunt him. As the giant hand clasped around his throat, Kal could feel his own strength sapped to the point that he couldn't break it. He was screwed.
"Now, you are mine. You were always at my mercy, Kal-El, and now, i have proven it to you..."
