No, I have no 'representation of what I THINK Ryu could do," how could I? As I said, I have nothing to go on except for what has been stated in this thread. I have only ever played the games - I just think Riceroost represented Ryu better than you argued against him.
of course you do, you're willing to give the character the benefit of the doubt at every turn.. again in which game does ryu display a 20 foot wide blast? where was the mileage stated that he ran with the boulder? where has it been stated how much the boulder weighed? where is it proven that ryu has an inexhaustable power supply (in spite of needing breaks to rest ) instead of a natural ability for channeling power...? why would this fight start far enough away for ryu to have and maintain a good distance from logan the entire time in spite of other faster/etc characters failing to do that? Why is ryu's blast going to be more effective than manderins, clyclops or brick punches?
see this is why I didn't want to debate against game-ryu in the first place, there are far too many ambiguities concerning the SF game series IMO to make any debates with these characters an easy one to come to... (for example, I remember tons of kids telling me that akuma destroyed/sunk an island with one hit.. how do you sink an island? I have no idea... but anyways.. I play the game and come to find out ryu says the island has dissapeared.. nothing about it sinking.. and if it did sink how come ryu inexplicably out of the cave and in water when it did? did it sink? was it vaporized? or did it just dissapear as ryu described? it too ambiguous to really say.
with comics the feats are right there in front of your face.. with the SF game series you have to get a feat, hope it's canon and then hope it doesn't get reconted as soon as the next sequal/prequal comes out....
This is why i can easily admit that logan would get trashed by that comic ryu ricerroost was talking about, but I can't say the same about the game version.. too many things that need to be proven, simply can't be... so we're left to giving ryu the benefit of the doubt.. I simply can not and will not do that.. it's as good as copping out...

Wait, this is a comic book forum, right? I thought we were discussing Comic Ryu versus Comic Wolverine. If you want to go into GAME'S wolverine, then I Saw him put down by....you know...EVERYONE in the game. So, lets go with the comic's version :-P
that's the thing.. I was bringing up comics and riceroost was going semi-strictly by games (sans the alpha movie)... then he chastised me for bringing up the comics so now I'm going by games..
from the sounds of it, the japanese dojinshi and the hong kong comics win..
any of the comics that have been translated to US probably lose
and anime is fair game.
the game version is totally ambiguous though...

the japenese one's aren't canon either.. hell the first street fighter comic that was japanese and translated by viz ( i think) would still lose.. I'm just saying it doesn't so much matter where the story is written it matter's how it's written.

same art and such if im not mistaken and it was early days KEN and RYU. Back in the day guile was better then both of them and Charlie would school Guile
yeah good point.. the company that's producing the art for the new games is the same one that's doing the plot for the comic...

no I was being dead serious.. udon does the art for the games as wellas the comic now. you were right.. that's all..

What are you talking about? I have seen NOTHING to imply that Spiderman is anywhere over class 20. I've seen the respect thread, I've read the comics. Show me something.
And even if Spiderman WAS as much as class 30 (he is no where near), that still doesn't compare to Ryu.

He went to help Dr. Strange when the mindless ones were invading New York.
Something happend(I forget what) that put Pete back in to the begining of his timeline and for some reason that they didn't explain he had to fight nearly evryone hes ever fought, on right after the other.
After he fought all the ones I mentioned and lifted that thing, he then hand to fight all these characters too.
