X-Man 51.
Something interesting. It is often debated weather Nate (Stryfe or Cable for that matter), are truly Omega level.
Well I always thought he was not, simply because his body could never harness such power.
Omega tend to transcends that kind of hindrance and have the possibility to attain cosmic hood, with out burning themselves out.
X-Man annual 1998
In here you will find the
X-Man vs. Hulk
X-Man vs. Thanos
And ultimately Nate and Hulk team up to take on Thanos.
I will upload the scans later (when I get the chance).
But in the mean time, you could just download them, read the comic and enjoy. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=U96EVJEJ
Granted that the idea of Nate (or even as Shaman) to stand up to Thanos (No PIS/CIS), seems far fetched.
And his chances of wining are slim to none. But in the match there are some feat worthy moments that I deemed respectable.
And to avoid confusion or hyping up Nate (which I dislike about certain characters when matched), or avoid misleading scans I provided the entire comic for download.
Pre Shaman X-Man, (Young Nate) as Moria puts it “An adolecent who is unprepared; physically, mentally, and emotionally to contain such devastating powers"
Pre Shaman Nate faces three major problems.
First - a fail safe device implanted in his genetic encoding made by AoA Mr. Sinister.
- It was meant to be used a safety percussion, in case Nate is left unchecked by Mr. Sinister (or in other words, If Mr. S cant have him. No one can).
Second - in a relax state, Nate faces a burn out. Eventually (upon reaching age 21), Nate’s body will not be able contain his power any longer, and his body would destroy itself. (this is a problem all alternate Nate’s deal with, including Nathan Summers *Cable*)
Third - His body faces limitation on the degree of power. Nate at all times (Pre Shaman, and Shaman), places restrains on his power out put. As is, (as Mr. Fantastic puts it) “his powers is staggering and off the charts”, yet he is still restraining himself. If Nate was to attempt to push father, it would be the end of him.
No human vessel is meant to carry such power.
So what is the significance of Pre-Shaman to Shaman?
Experience and problems 1 & 2.
Experience
Keep in mind that Nate is a test tube baby, and experienced an accelerated growth.
Upon reaching age 18 (in our standards), he has no formal training to cope with his powers.
We see how Nate copes with his inexperience, and progresses in his self knowledge.
Upon meeting an alternate reality Nate. Alt. Nate begins to merge with Nate Grey.
Exchanging genetic information with each other among other things.
The result? Nate Grey learns everything Atl. Nate has. Know Nate Grey has around 21 years of experience along with what he learned in the past few years. How experience and inteletec Alt Grey has will never be known. But we see a vast difference with Nate Grey;
Nate Grey is now calm, and collected of himself (thus gain the ideology of a Shaman)
Nate grey can now perform outrageous feats, that Pre-Shaman Nate has ever done.
Problems 1 and 2 are know solved. When Alt Nate merged with Nate Grey.
Nate Grey gained an “X” brand across his chest.
What this does is overrides Mr. Sinister’s fail safe device.
And the X brand can now keep Nates power from consuming its body (in relax form), thus expanding his life expectancy beyond age 21.
In X-Man #40
Nate effectively mind reads one of the Great Beasts "Tundra". (many consider The Great Beasts Cosmic level entities). So this is a really good TP feat. http://img474.imageshack.us/my.php?...man040048mo.jpg
X-Man #59
Nate fights against the Fantastic Four (Well three T__T).
But in the process mind plays/controls the Thing and the Human Torch.
Despite having Psi Baflers!!! http://img217.imageshack.us/my.php?image=59074yg.jpg
In X-Man #62
Alright Feat that matches or even surpasses Xaviers comunication with Lilandra

I'm pretty sure he's communicated telepathically with Lilandra while she was on the Shi'Ar homeworld.

In X-Man #65
Can fairly easily pick out 12 minds amongst 10 million people.
He strained himself because he'd just come out of a big battle, with some who is said to be as powerful as he is. http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/5723/xma6509bc8.jpg
In X-Man #66
He mind reads yet another alien creature. But this time it’s a bit more respectable feat.
The creature happens to be as powerful as Nate. Not bad. http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/480/05dx3.jpg
i would think it the opposite, given that he's never needed to adapt and despite his power, is quite humanoid. without mental abilities himself, that just doesn't seem like much.
