But what the hell do I know anyway. I\\'m just a talking horse.

Let me guess, you are not very learned. smile

Wow...it's not about uneducated and educated (well, it is but not in this example) it's about having a degree or not.

Does bullshit have more credibility than horseshit? Which one do you use, BTW? Just wondering, because I'd like to know which one to use in my next argument.

Until I researched it out, my opinion would be less credible than Omega's, despite it being my opinion. Her opinions do trump mine until I have studied the subject thoroughly. Once researched thoroughly I would need to present credible sources and allow her to then defend her view against them. Prior to this my opinion is worthless in the debate.

as she would have to present a credible source to prove her point. if she's more educated on the matter than its just that much easier for her to reference. in fact i would say, being the more educated, she has more of an obligation to educate others. unless of coarse a debate is not really an exchange of ideas but just a quest to see who's dick diploma is bigger.

Yes, it would, but not because she has a degree but because she is actually knowledgable. It's that way with everyone....that's why educated obviously trumps uneducated but jsut having a degree doesn't mean you will be more educated than anyone else that doesn't have an agree. And you have to provide your points and not jsut say "NO, I have a degree, I'm right".

Seriously, did I do something wrong? I'm not good with the smilies, but I try. I was laughing at the post that Mr Ed made, I thought his childishness was funny.

Yeah, try not to use them, makes one seem so much more knowledgeable.

As for the childish thing, well, lets be honest, your response was just as childish.

I saw the irony of his scolding of Regret. I thought it was funny.

Also, I have had people tell me I should use more smilies, now you tell me not to use any.

She does not hold the burden of proof. The one disputing her claims does. She does not need to present the source unless a credible attack is made, unless she chooses to do so.

As far as educating others goes, in situations as we describe the uneducated is typically saying that the educated doesn't know what they are talking about and are not interested in the sources. Typical response to sources presented is an attack at the credibility of the sources, not an open minded researching of the source.

The uneducated typically do feel that the educated are only on "a quest to see who's dick diploma is bigger."

A degree is proof of years of study in a subject. It is evidence of her education. It typically does mean you will be more educated than anyone else that doesn't have a degree in that area. The degree does support their statements until they are credibly refuted.

Yeah, well, I am right.

And you still called him in a very childish manner "uneducated" ...just elitist and stupid, if you ask me.

Fortunately, I didn't ask you.

So, what is it about the smilies?

Yeah, I offered my (correct) observation for free.

They just aren't appropriate in serious discussion (which is basically all threads you attend).
