Co-signed to the max!!While I dont like much nu-metal.I cant stand when people say that a certian metal band I like isnt metal because they are in a certain sub-genre.
Hate to break it to you guys but...Metal-core and Nu Metal are just as much metal as your Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash Metal, or Power Metal. Its all sub genres and they all have the word Metal in them for a reason. Because they are a form of metal.
Here's a tip: Break up your paragraphs. All I see is a brick of RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE!
And there is only one way to solve this arguement. Next summer, go to Wacken wearing chain pants and a Korn shirt. Also, actively talk to concert-goers about how awesome it would be if Korn played there. Videotape your results and post them on Youtube. We will see just how popular Korn is in the non-mainstream metal fandom, then. Once again, I am not an elitist at all, but I have never met a metalhead that liked Korn. Ever.
Of course it's not, metal is different from rock because it has certain characteristics, that's how.
I'll be waiting on how Dillinger are officially metalcore because people agree. Proof would be nice.
Because DEP commonly tours with Metalcore bands. From previous debates it appears that's your method of determining genre.
I'm not the one going around claiming they are officially metalcore, officially meaning factually and truthfully. You are.
What they are, right down to technical ability, is a metal band.
We've already established they're a metal band several tims, now! Alright, how's this. What subgenre of metal do you think they fit in best?
Do you not see the retardation of calling them Metaljazzfusioncore? I bet you don't, I bet you actually would call them that.
You CAN and SHOULD stop at just metal. It does not imply that you think all metal is the same. People should have the presense of mind to tell what is different, it doesn't require the creation of subgenres so ridiculous.
Of course I wouldn't call them Metaljazzfusioncore, but it'd be funny to use in a parody of the metal fandom. Thanks for the idea. Yes, I can and shoul stop at metal. And I do, often. I can say Dillenger are metal. But if someone asked me "What kind of metal are they?" What do you suppose I reply with? Should I kick them in the face and scream "THEY'RE ****ING METAL AND NOTHING ELSE! WHAT DID YOU WANT ME TO SAY, SOME LONG, DETAILED JUMBLE OF RETARDATION CALLED A SUBGENRE?! YOU MAKE ME SICK! AND TO THINK I ONCE CALLED YOU A FRIEND!!" ?
It's actually puzzling how I keep pointing out to the crux of the argument and you keep missing it.
Forget about what metalheads seem to like or not like, ok? Forget that for ONE minute.
REGARDLESS of what they like, or think, Korn would be classed as a metal band if they were a nu-METAL band, and still are classed as a metal band, really. It doesn't matter what metalheads think. If "rock" fans said Prince wasn't a rock musician cos they didn't like him or consider him rock, they'd be wrong.
Stop thinking about what fans like, that's not the argument.

Pff, I would listen to you, but you didn't even know that Godspeed You Black Emperor are post-Instrumental MetalMath-rockcore...you know nothing about music.
Wow, nice avoidance tactic... That's not even a long paragraph. If that's too much for you I fear for your literacy and your future.
Second, I have been to Wacken and plan on attending in the future. I know exactly what it is like, thanks for playing that game.
Third, I'm starting to realize something you've probably never considered. European metal scene vs. American metal scene. If your European this will make a lot more sense, but mainstream metal in North America loves Korn, Metallica and Pantera, elitism hates it. And guess where the majority of metalheads and album sales are? North America.
