Hey Stormfront, your sig inspired me to look back at that Galactic Core feat of Storm's, and I realised something interesting.
Storm did not die from "harnessing" the energies. She ALMOST died, because after she did that she was exhusted, and left unprotected in the vaccume of space.
The next time someone tries to tell you that "harnessing" the power almost killed her, please feel free to correct them

Exactly. Even in the actual panel where she summons the power of the core, it states that the process was simple.

Storm can work her powers THROUGH Magneto's forcefields
As we can see, Magneto can take an optic blast and a class 100 strength punch from Colossus with his Shields.
(please log in to view the image)
But here we see Storm SLICING and ripping right through him to the BONE WITH HIS SHIELDS UP almost Killing him, all while HOLDING BACK.
(please log in to view the image)
Again we see his shields holding up to a full Blast from PHOENIX who is semi-bloodlusted.
(please log in to view the image)
Whereas here we see Ororo taxing his shield unto certain death until he uses Colossus as a weapon. He even says how much it strained his "magnetic powers"(his SHIELDS)

Also note that given Storm's nature, she was likely holding back here as well.
Poeple often cite Magneto as one of the smartest Supervillains-- a literal GENIUS.
Why would he drop his shields with Nightcrawler and Colossus directly behind him??
It should be also noted that Storm's powers taxed him unto death, while his shields held up to Cyclops, Colossus, Night Crawler and even Phoenix- possesed Jean.

Wow. MAN just WOW.
In the first scan he is CLEARLY using his shield for protection (stating so on panel).
He was even kind enough to state that he was at his best (most powerful) on the panel right before Storm takes it to his buttox.

Did you guys see in Fantastic Four today how Storm, with just a gesture, broke Hydrogen Man down to just water molecules/humidity so that it would take him a very long time to come back together? Awesome!

My comic store. It may have been an advanced copy I read. I can't get it till next week anyway. I did not mean to bring this up on this board already.

They probably won't post that page as its near the very end of the book.
