Just about any incarnation of Supergirl is too strong and versatile/fast for Carol's skill to matter any, and that's really her only advantage. She'd have to absorb heat vision and boost her strength to put a dent in, and comics regularly display her getting knocked down/out by energy if she doesn't actively absorb it. HV is too fast, I'd reckon.
