Gender: Female Location: Drinking rum with Jack in a dingy
Willo....your summary of what should have been brought such a smile to my face and I was laughing out loud. I loved it...so much better than what we got.
I'll join you and Diva....*Waving Arms and Hands in Air* "It was all a dream...It was all a dream" it's still november of 2006 and we are aniticpating the upcoming release of AWE! LOL
Oh well, I tried....it didn't work.
I agree with Tex and Willo.....
gosh, Kate, remember back in the good old days we use to elaborate on that scene on the Pearl in DMC...when Jack returns to the ship from the longboat.....it was as if a new Jack had emerged...gone was the swagger, the silliness, the effects...and we got to see Jack, raw and naked.....a real man, a good man...wearing his heart on his sleeve..and he never looked sexier than he did with his backed was turned saying his silent farewell to the Pearl, with that sexy Coat on, those sexy boots and that sexy soothing heartwrenching voice when he says "We're not free yet, love"...I was convinced right then and there that we were finally getting to the true romance and crux of this story, this story we came to know as Pirates of the Caribbean.....
and then, came May of 2007...and everything that was accomplished and set up for in DMC fell over the waterfall and drowned in DAvy's Locker......gone was that sexy, manly...heart on his sleeve Jack Sparrow and back was the silly bafoon when wants to make out with a goat! Jeeze! WE waited anxiously for 10 months for that! And a cheesy wedding scene on the Pearl! and a Giant Tia that exploded into a million crabs! Please! Gosh, Willo, why oh why couldn't you have been the writer of POTC instead of them goofballs ted and terry?!
And I'm glad to see you say it too Willo.....Jack was only drunk one time throughout the trilogy...and it was on rum runner's island thanks to Lizzy! It always makes me angry when people just see Jack as a crazy drunk obsessed Pirate obsessed with the Pearl....and unfortunately that was the last time the public got to see Jack.....stripped of his dignity and in love with a bottle of rum...thanks Ted and Terry for giving one of the greatest icons in hollywood history such a fabulous breathtaking safisfying ending!

Kate.....last i heard or saw Surreal around these Parts...she thought AWE was the greatest movie she ever saw, she was overcome with passion during the sex on the beach scene...and the cheesy wedding was totally satisfying for her...she thought it was beautiful and exciting how they had overcome all the obstacles and were united in holy matrimony in the midst of a battle while Jack was risking his life for them aboard the Dutchman!......but she never really cared for Jack Sparrow, he was her least favorite character. It was one of those things that make you go "huh?"

Willo, Tex, SERIOUSLY, have you guys ever considered making your own versions of the POTC commentary and like fusing them all in a book or something? like what mugglenet.com did as a speculation to HP 7? (and don't forget some of our good comments too )
and everyone else, have you guys ever considered asking T and T and Disney if we could make our own version of a sequel as a book(kinda like what star wars have now) and we could all be co-writers or something? (or maybe we could write something funy.. a parody or something...)
SERIOUSLY, has anyone ever thought of this, ever? We must get NOTICED, because, again, in all honesty, truthfulness and sincerity, SERIOUSLY guys, we ARE good at this. great at this in fact. speculations, making each other laugh(hopefully, it's not just us who understands what we're laughing at at our jokes), sequel writing(fanfictions), parodies and all that!

You mean like record our commentary when we watch AWE? That would be cool, but I don't think I would come across nearly as smart as I should.
The top 3 things Willo would say,
"Man, I hate this part."
"No! They died before their time!"
"I miss the goat."
The top 3 things Tex would say,
"I really like fried cheese. Irrelevant to the movie, but I want to celebrate it."
"No one should pity Elizabeth, she gets to choose between Will and Jack!"
"This part's stupid."
hehehehe.... i always get smacked by friends and family when watching movies because i ALWAYS add my own commentary... i can't watch a movie in silence. I have far too many opinions on everything. oh wait, i think everyone here does.
Gender: Female Location: WheRe JacK is I'M There By His Side
tell me about it...we waited all that time for seriously absolutely nothing! Only a Parachute scene (which i have to say I liked because we saw so much emotion in both of them! ) Not even a satisfying reunion scene, not even a conversation...Nothing! It was truley painful to watch!!
And what gets me even more is why go through all that trouble to show that Liz and Will were having serious issues....Elizabeth couldn't even be near Will during the time Jack was in the locker! She pushed him away so much Will was actually convinced she Loved Jack! Why show that? Why? if she was going to end up with Will anyway! ugh!
i'm trying to think about AWE parts I actually liked. Frankly, it's tough.
I liked when Jack was chasing after the Pearl in the locker.
I liked when Barbossa and ELizabeth were de-weaponing outside Sao's tub. And then, I liked when Barbossa said the line about peaceful intentions followed by the swords coming through the floor. My kind of comic timing.
I liked in the bath scene (again) when they realized there was a dude in there who wasn't either of their's, and then they started fighting together.
I liked the 2 seconds where the Pearl was sailing through the sea at night and it looked like it was sailing through a million stars.
I really liked when Will is TRYING to confront Elizabeth about their Jack problem and he pushes her up against the wall in the cabin, and looks like he's about to have his way with her before she ducks out. It's possibly my favorite Will moment in the trilogy. He actually looks really hot for about 4 seconds.
I liked Barbossa. All the time. I LOVED his behavior to Elizabeth.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the brief moment between Jack and Tia in the locker when Jack is deciding who gets to come aboard the Pearl. Tia says that line, "You enjoyed it while it lasted", and Jack gets this adorable grin on his face and giggles. LOVE IT. They have brilliant chemistry. THey should have gotten more time together.
I Really enjoyed the scene once the boat flips back over and they all whip out their pistols. It's SOOOOOOO lovely to see everyone smile and laugh for a few seconds. Once again, my kind of comic timing. Their facial expressions are all great, especially when they start trying to shoot each other.
Jack and Barbossa's moment with the kraken, when they lament how there is less in the world. the ONE moment of the whole film I actually found poignant and believable.
Jack fanning himself with that frilly fan in Beckett's office. I love how Jack has this amazing ability to convince anyone he is on their side. Jack and Beckett should have had more scenes together. They are hilarious.
THe music right before and as they zoom in on Shipwreck cove. There are about 4 bars of music that just give me chills---- SOOO piraty.
More or less, ALL the pirate lords. (minus Teague, who was a washout). Especially the one with the super high voice who says "we go to war"! loved that. And LOVED the bit about the pieces of eight being whatever junk they had in their pockets. and LOVED all of their costumes.
I was pleasantly surprised by Ragetti's little moment in the spotlight when he got to speak to Tia like a lover. It was really charming. Now, of course what happened afterward was like a nightmare....
Jack and Davy's swordfight. NOT because i found Davy a particularly intriguing villain, but because the swordfight itself was kick ass. Or what we got to see of it, anyway.
Barbossa narrating the wedding. I have already delineated my problems with the plot of the wedding, but Barbossa's performance there is STUNNING and brought a huge smile to my face despite the nonsense of the scene. He sounds like he is issuing an attack, not narrating a wedding.
Beckett walking down the stairs. I'm sorry he had to die. He was great. I like that he got a big moment at the end.
Gibbs has a teddy bear. What the??? No, it was cute. Bordering on Schmee, but I bought it.
Ah, ha, Miz WilloftheWisp, you been scoping the frig here at home, Yep, fried cheese and RUM! Always for you, respect and support, Miz WilloftheWisp, enjoyment from your humor and logic. I don't have to agree with all my sisters, I just get off to the process. Life's too short not to be passionate and embrace your inner pirate. And yes, I'm a Sparrabether and a Willabether. There isn't a bad boy in this world I would pass up for a lucious seduction. Nothing like pursuing that which I find foreign and forbidden. I think we talked about how fine it would be to be the ONE who tamed Jack. With Will, god, how wonderful to know this man would love me so totally there would never be any question that he was faithful to me.
I am very flattered, Miz JCapt--there's this common thread in all our fleshy forums I'm thinkin', that makes us all wanna know how come. I feel the same way when I read all y'alls posts--It's a very cool idea to write it all down or make a DVD; after PiDiva wins the lottery for our Road Trip/France (oh, or should we contact mtv--instead of those stinky stupid Real Life thangs, we could get all the piratistas together, share a house preferably in France as we work for Mr. Depp) we'll do marathon sessions of PotC, DMC, then slice and dice AWE. MizKate, it's really amazing, cos in some ways it feels like I'm suddenly a member of a family where we are quints plus. It would be a festival of light if we all showed up at the same place--what a complete kick in the pants.
Jack drunk, a drunkard--not in this lifetime. You don't survive all the boy had survived to be where he was when we met him if you're a drunk. You sleep with pigs (no offense Gibbs). Of this, I am certain. and as paraphased by Willo, this part's stupid, who would be so silly to think Jack a drunk, <harumph>.

Kate, I am in almost full agreement except that I like Teague. I find him intriguing. But yes to all the rest. There are several small things and moments in AWE that make it watchable and yes, I am getting the movie for Christmas.
Let me add the music. I find all the music in all the movies very, very good. But Hoist the Colors is gorgeously haunting and then after Elizabeth gives her speech and you can hear voices singing it in the background, I wanted to stand up and shout, "Will's not good enough for you!" But he did look ready to lunge on her during that, so I guess he liked it too.

If we all show up at the same place, I mean ALL of us, it could be a riot - literally. against T and T, I'm sure.
although it would be fun.. we'd talk about a lotta stuff, from Johnny, to POTC, to ourselves.
lol, weshould do that tex... maybe we'd have our own reality show where people who are crazy about johnny and potc get together in one house- all they'll see are us watching CotP and DMC and AWE(well, parts of it anyway) and commenting and screaming at Jack and sighing at sparrabeth scenes and so on...
Oh, major hootsville--oh snuffling damn, that'd be ultimate--I'd have to pack devices so I wouldn't just totally wee my 'wears from laughing my behind completely off. But only rubber crabs...really it'll be easier on all of us. And rum bottles, and swords and a major Greek chorus of THUMP THUMP. I want to be a pig and an apple--and the guy with the lighted beard!!
You guys, no kidding, y'all are funnier than the few years I experimented back in the 60s. And equally hallucenogenic (sp)
Somebody, try at least to contact MTV--I'll go, I'll love y'all, hate the experience, and accept all the blame....or whatever so we get great ratings. I can be evil I just know I can.

i only saw AWE twice in theatres. i literally had to walk out both times during certain parts, especially the beginning scene. so it will be interesting to watch it again and see what i think.
i DID like Elizabeth's "hoist the colours"... forgot about that moment. I'm always a bit distracted by her hideous shoes in that scene.
it comes out soon, eh? I'm really in it for the commentary. The bloopers were great, so I'm holding out some hope that the commentary will be worth listening to. thank God for Christmas break coming up... I've never needed a break more.
I'm all in for riots. I love public demonstrations. we can make placards and throw water balloons.
Oops, MizKateloves, someone, think it was PiDiva, bent me bad on Elisabeth's Hoist Your Colours--said something about Will's hoisting and so now I associate that song, that scene with Will's manly bits and I blush cute. How'd you even see her shoes?! I keep remembering the hush puppy boots that Jack was wearing when he reaches for the gun before they hang glide to safety.
lmao rotfl...Placards, lord it is the 60s--and water ballons, yeah, that feels nice and pirate-y. I pick KatelovesPirate. Who else has a good arm? I throw like a girl, oh, yeah, I am a girl, er woman, mature woman, chronologically gifted of the female gender persuasion. Oh, and I pick Jack, haha ha ha ha!
