I have Bachelors with honors in computer science specializing in programming and design. I have also studied biology, physics and astronomy with many interests in most of the other sciences. I have always had a keen interest in learning all types of subjects such as Vet medicine from my wife, Law from my sister and many other subjects from friends and family as well as learning from many knowledgeable people on this forum and internet.
i personally think that moral value, has more say in the case of pedophilia or murder, than what a judge would have to say. murder can be commited for a number of reasons:
one: anger
Two: a bad impulse
Three: sadism
and so on and so forth, but pedophilia, is a cowardly attack, abusing the undeveloped judgement of a kid, and... you get the picture, so i would have to say, pedophilia is worse
what I was just sitting here wondering is through the same legal system that you speak pf starhalk... what about the severity of the crime.. obviously there is no reason an adult should touch a child in a sexual manner... but ... what if he just touches the childs no-no spots vs. penetration of sorts...
and then I turn to the murder cases... their are different reasons for which someone could commit such a crime.. including self defence, planned or accidental murder ... etc....
same punishment, execution?
forgive me if you answered this ... I may have over looked it.

I have already told you this before but you seem to have a very short memory, she graduated in the top 10% of her class from Cornell and she was specializing in corporate law and yes passed the bar, my cousin-in-law is a defense attorney in Seattle.
to the best of my understanding, pedophilia is a compulsion. It would probably be best described as a cross between homosexuality and serial killer, in that, they are likely predisposed naturally to be attracted to children and have psychologically uncontrollable compulsions to act out on these urges.
Not trying to justify their motivations at all, I just don't necessarily see them as being as evil as some murderers. For instance, the killing of the person who raped your underage daughter is probably far more morally justifiable than the rape itself, whereas a very gruesome and random murder is much less moral than some of the more gray region cases of pedophilia.

That is nice for you; I seriously don't think anyone here thought that you were going to be a defense attorney with your mentality. So why are you now trying to be all nice and cuddly or did you just forget that you called us a bunch or retards?
lol. An aside about the educational credentials stuff
I don't think a whole lot of emphasis should be put on how many degrees people have and in what. Some of the smartest people I know barely made it out of high school. The most well read person I know makes bongs for a living.
Also for a measure of intellectual honesty, I am only a neuroscientist in the most technical of ways. I do work as a research assistant to one of my profs in a perception lab at my university, and thus am a practicing neuroscientist. However, in reality I am just a 2nd year honors psych student.
