When guns were still relatively primitive, swords were still carried into battle. And who said that in Fable 2 swords were the primary form of combat?
Yeah, but a full set of armor?
No.
People are b!tching that they can't wear a full set of Medieval armor like in the first, when the time period in the first's time period made armor much more neccessary.
I didn't care to much that armor was not apart of the game. Although, armor classes may actually have given the game a challenge. I've come to learn, however, challenge was not meant to be aspect of this game, immersiveness seems to have been the primary focus and on that aspect, the game scores.
I will say though, armor shouldn't be associated with era but, rather, battle and war. The fact that your main character is a warrior, actively pursuing battle should make armor a necessity.

Well from another point of view the Hero probably wouldn't wear any form of armor anyway for the same reason Superman does not, he doesn't really need it, Heroes are supposed to be superhuman(dude was like eight, and he was shot out of a window hundreds of feet up lol) and stuff, so he prolly does not even need it.
I always enjoy gaining armour as part of my experiance in a game, its not about challenge or classes, more progression, having my character not gain any armour means character customisation is reduced in the face of games where armour choices are vast, for instance in World of warcraft, although most of the vanilla characters have very few choices in look, their equipment can make them look massively unique (obviously this slips a bit late game when every Shaman has T6, every Warrior has dreadnought, Warlock has Maleficic etc etc)
Also even in a time where guns exist armour is still important if not more, a metal breastplate can still save your life and in real life knights still existed as did horsemen when soldiers had muskets because muskets and before mentioned weapons were not exactley...reliable, a shot could be way way off even with a skilled marksmen the guns were not accurate to say the least and a small metal shot fired from a shoddy weapon would not always penetrate a breastplate.
I thought swords were seeing as every human you fought used a sword. The only people that didn't were Hammer, Reaver and monsters. Still I didn't want a whole bunch of armor, just one armor outfit would've been.
Oh lets not even get started with Lucien and his plt device gun. That was one of the only things that didn't make sense in the story. I understand the shot affecting you as a child seeing as the Hero bloodline was still young within you. Then I get older and I get shot at many times and live through it, yet when Lucien shoots me point blank range I die/get KO'd and go to the little special place. Me and my friends were like "WTF?" Still I enjoyed most parts of the game.
Well Lucien shot you at the end of the game from point blank range in the face with what looked like a Master Flintlock Pistol.
Although one thing I gotta say is, the fact that the Music Box turned out to be the "ultimate weapon" was bullshit, I played the game thinking I was getting something like the Sword of Aeons, and I end up getting a frickin music box.
Also, this has been seriously bothering me, how do I open the chest in the Chamber of Fate(the cave where you go to meet up with Theresa and the other heroes)? It keeps on urging me to go to Fable2.com, and I did, and learned nothing.
I know how you feel. TBH that little dream part made me hate Rose so much. Why the hell did I have to go through an entire day of hunting bottles and kicking chickens?
Lucien's end still makes me laugh. The guy got stupidly powerful and was pretty much a god amongst everyone except the Heroes. You would think that over all of the years he would've invested in a durability spell/enchantment/enhancement.
My favorite things out of this game were Garth for being the wise black badass and Reaver, for being so unique and colorful. I think everyone hated Hammer though.
The dream didn't bother me so much, though I loled when she screamed "NO!" and then disappeared.
Well Lucien's power was drained from him by the Music Box. But yeah, even before absorbing the Heroes power and that of the Spire's, he was subtly hinted at being quite strong, able to with one spell knock out the Hero and like 15 other people. I was looking forward to a fight with him, but meh...Although this game will prolly get an expansion pack, with Theresa as the villain IMO, a darker side to her was alluded to several times in the game.
Garth and Reaver are tied for my favorite of the Heroes, and yeah Hammer sucks ass. I actually liked Lucien to be honest, specially his clothes, dude had some nice ass threads lol, but just didn't think he lived up to the previous Fable antagonist, Jack of Blades, in terms of pure villainy. Oh and on an unrelated note, fvck Charles and his Grandmother, I crawl through a cavern of Hollow Men expecting to find a 6 year old distressed child, and find a 40 year old man playing Adventurer in a cave, and then find out the treasure he was looking for was already taken. I killed him so fast after that.
And out of curiosity, what is your suggestion for racking up good points fast? Other than the Temple of Light of course, seeing as I slaughtered it.
What other hints did you see besides the obvious "The spire is mine..."
I agree on him compared to JOB. Lucien acted more out of depression and sadness over his lost family. I also hate Charles. The guy wants to sit and fight the whole time. I had to summon the undead/distraction and kept running until the next part and repeat.
I slaughtered them too. What you could do is donate money to beggars, see your wife and do some slave rescue, also vegeanism works slowly. To change your morality then give discounts on your rent. Thats what I did.
1. Well for one when Theresa says Hammer needs a reason to fight, nearly immediately after Lucien's men coincidently show up to kill her dad(owned). When she disappears after activating the Spire Powers within the Heroes, Lucien shows no concern over it and when asked what he did with her he simply remarks,"I listened," also, this one should just be common sense, when Rose and the Hero bought the Music Box, only Theresa could have known the value of the artifact, as at that point Lucien did not have Spire Guards or anyone else with him who knew anything about Old Kingdom artifacts but Garth, and we find out that Lucien was informed of the children buying the box, it can only be Theresa, who was factually there, and knew the true value of the box was much more than the useless trinket it appeared to be. And you have no contact with Theresa after she sends your from the Spire, so yeah, based on all that, I infer that Theresa is a straight b!tch who conspired with Lucien so she could possess the Spire herself for whatever reason, and I also find it likely that Theresa in this game could be the same from the previous. Of course, at this point this is all purely speculation.
2. Yeah, although Lucien had a fairly understandable reason for his mental downfall, I just did not find him as satisfying. Also, I feel Jack of Blades build-up was better. Yeah fvck Charles. Dude is an ass hole with an ugly mustache and hat.
3. Yeah, wiping out the whole town was fun lol. Hm, I already knew all that, oh well. The only reason I wanna get good is so I can get the frickin Laugh expression for a Goddamn Demon Door. At least turning back evil will be easy.
1. Yeah I always suspected Theresa to betray me...just like Kreia from KOTOR. I guess I should've paid more attention in the game because all of that does make sense. How could Lucien just hear her from nowhere and she didn't seem to be in trouble or show any signs of being restrained when she appeared in the spire. Also she is the same Theresa. She knows about Oakvale and Reaver, she lived over 500 years, knows about the old heroes and such. Many other people support this claim.
2. Again I concur on hating Charles.
3. Yeah I hate that DD. Also my favorite way to gain good points is to frick my wife. During my evil run I killed everyone in every town to make the prices of the buildings go down, bought em and raised the economy up to make more money. Capitalism at its best. I also killed any guy that hit on me.
1. Yeah, now that you mention it, she does remind me of Kreia. But yeah, her words at the end of the Spire made me wonder, so I did some "research" to figure this shit out. And yeah, she just kinda disappeared while Lucien activated the Spire. B!tch. I agree, she claims to have SEEN Oakvale when it was prosperous, making her at least 200-300 years old, and she is currently blind, like Theresa, both seem to be prophetic, and have power over Will, it is not a stretch to say that Theresa like Scythe before her used her mastery over Will to extend her life-span. The only thing that might disprove them being the same is one thing, despite being white and blind, F2 Theresa's eyes are intact, whereas in Fable 1 Theresa's eyes were supposedly slashed out by Jack of Blades during the Raid of Oakvale, however, due to her power over Will, it is not a stretch to say she healed the physical aspects of her eyes, and we never actually saw her eyes in the first game so we are not sure if it is entirely true. I would lol if it turned out Theresa is some master manipulator who has been controlling everyone for hundreds of years lol.
2. Yeah. Fvck him, oh, and fvck Sam and Max, for making me fight many Hollow Men, including the one's I was supposed to protect Charles from.
3. Fricking your wife only gets you good points if you use a condom right?
Yeah, right now I am saving up, and when I get done with the demon doors will buy the Shadow Temple and eventually Castle Fairfax, right now I have over 200K.
2. Also the white banshee. on a side note, balverines scared the shit out of me the first time I encountered them.
3. I think so.
You should have a whole lot more money if you are done with the game. Are you bartending for money and buying property and shops? I always jack up the prices.
A decent spell is like a OHKO. I love the Vortex and Shock. yes that scream did it for me.
Yeah do some tending for the quick money. It will start out slow but once you get a 5 star then you'll be making over a thousand each drink with a 15 multiplier. Actually I got a shitload of money on me at the moment. You can have a mil if you got live, I'll be getting my game back within two days.
