Angry Stop depowering The Punisher.

Ok this is getting out of hand. We all know that The Punisher is not superhuman but I dont think its illogical to say he could be considered to be peak human. Frank has gone toe to toe with DD, Bullseye and has some good showings against Cap in the past.

All of a sudden he is getting a gun taken out of his hand by Elecktra so qucikly he cant react. Getting curbstomped by Cap and generally needing plot devices to get away from and survive superhumans. Lets face it, I dont think Frank can beat Cap or DD but he should be able to put up a decent fight, combine that with his smarts and weaponry and you have a lethal opponent.

Its gotta stop, Frank is not getting enough respect.

Meh, Punisher has a looooooooonggggg history of getting curpstomped by anyone who has anything close to superpowers. DD for example.

He's a great fighter, but he's the best at taking punishment from people and getting back up. Not actually winning a fight.

Well Frank almost killed DD in a fight once. Frank had a good showing against Bullseye hand to hand. Why is Frank getting a gun taken out of his hand by Elektra thats PIS. Yeah I know he takes beatings....I dunno this is a bit like Wolverine, one minute he uses skill the next minute its snikt rawr!

That fight against cap was ridiculous though he got completely curbstomped...unfair.

He didn't lose to cap, he simply refused to fight him. Respect is a large part of his character.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

Is Punisher really getting "depowered", or are that characters he fights just getting a "power increase", while he stays the same? confused

Yes it is . Considering that Frank has gone h2H with DD and Bullseye.

Er well I just read the latest Punisher issue. Its like he actually intended to fight but because he got beaten so badly he decided not to. I know the issue you are talking about, but from what I saw this latest issue showed things differently.

Punisher is able to put up a good fight against most street levellers, IMO. Sure, he shouldn't be owning Spidey but he shouldn't be getting owned by Daredevil either...

Elektra trains constantly and is about as tough and fast as is humanly possible ... Frank drives around and shoots people ... he may be in good shape but he does not train as hard as Elektra, it's only natural that she's faster than him.

DD owns him 99% of the time.

Hell, in the Punisher/DD comic, Punisher had tons of guns and never landed a hit and got knocked out by pressure points. He's not superhuman, he's just tough and determined. Trying to make him be superhuman takes away from his very human character.

Meh I think he drives arounds and shoots people and trains constantly as well. Hes martial arts plus his skills with guns should make him dangerous. As I said before he has enough showings which mean he should be able to put up a decent fight against Elecktra.

No you misunderstand me im not saying hes superhuman. Im saying he should not get curbstomped. 9 times out of ten or even 10 against Cap or DD he should lose but he can put up a decent fight. Punishers has enough showings to be able to do this.

Frank has put up a good fight against DD before.

He has gone H2H with Bullseye and put up a good fight.

In the past he has put up a good fight against Cap.

Hell there was even one issue where he made Nightcrawler look stupid.

H2H alone Frank should not be getting curbstomped. His skill with guns and planning should be enough to make up the difference.

For the Cap case he refused to fight him. I read the Punisher issue (I assume you meant War Journal 3) and from what I remember he refused to fight him. Just like he refused to fight him when he was a marine and when he refused to fight his fellow soldiers.

Elektra owning him was terrible imo. Frank definitely shouldn't be able to beat her but that was just ridiculous. She treated Frank like a toddler.

Meh ok, but if you look at the scan before the beating Frank says "Lets get it over with." It gives the impression that he wanted to fight then basically crapped his pants.

Then again "Lets get it over with." could mean lets get the beating over with.

At any rate I have seen scans of Cap deflecting caps shield and basically have cap at his mercy. Well i dont think Frank should have cap at his mercy I still dont think he should be getting a beating like that regardless of wether he let him or not.

It seems like a retcon, but I can accept the fact that Frank let Cap beat him.

Agreed. This reminds me of what they did to Jack Monroe, Nomad. First of all Nomad was able to take on superhumans. All of a sudden they decided to completely depower him in his won series.

Isn't Punisher like the only comic character actually aging? That would probably have something to do with it.

Yea. It sucks but it happens to characters sometimes.
