Some players can indeed play other zones by pushing some buttons simultaneously. But to have it working normally, you'll have to have it modified which is possible, but that costs some 100 euro. Quite costly that.

Called the store I bought the DVD player and they gave me the code to alter the region settings, so now I just have to see if it works. I bet it will cause it was specified for the brand I have.
Dont need no modification because this brand is at sale in the US and far east (Asia, Australia and so on) All I have to do is use the remote to decode the region settings

In the past they had the video formats (PAL, NTSC and SECAM) to keep foreign purchase at bay. That doesn't work for digital, so they had to come up with something.
