the problem with making GTA's more true to the cities that they are based on is that the cities have to have enough iconic landmarks or features to allude to...thats why i think they've been perfect in chosing the cities featured in the series so far...New York obviously with the skyline...miama with it's pastel coloured houses...LA with the hollywood sign...San Fran with it's pointy building and the golden gate bridge...vegas cause of the strip
the problem with using other cities is what's really iconic about some of them...Rio?...the beach and the redeemer statue?...Tokyo...what's iconic apart from akihabara?
the people behind the original GTA (David Jones of realtime studios...used to be DMA) games are apparently making a police simulation training programme for the wii that's based on my home town...
Just finished my first playthrough, took me 66 hours, and completed it with 95% Game Progress, only lack Pigeons and Jumps, took the revenge part. gonna do the Deal tomorrow I think.
What features would you like to see in the next GTA? Personally I still prefer San Andreas, I'm still playing the bloody game four years on.. Its probably the best of the series, though I still love GTA 2 which was loads of fun and still is
Jedi-1: I'd like to be able to fly planes and travel to Vice and Los Santos etc.
Open world? It is possible but highly unlikely due to how boring that would be.

A long time have I waited for this, my little green friend!
Ah yes, should have mentioned this earlier as well.
I would like to see seasons included in the games. Rockstar did an amazing job with IV when it comes to the different weathers, just think of how fall, with falling leaves, winter, with snow and ice, etc would look like.
Just started playing today. The camera likes zooming in on my rear bumper when I drive...I've taken to the first-person view. Otherwise, nothing noteworthy just yet.
Also, what extra stuff can you do with XBox Live in this game? I have the stuff to set myself up with Live, but this is the first game I've played with any real multiplayer capability.
Game time is severely limited...meaning, I can only play when I'm the only one home. If the folks see it, there's about %1000 chance of something awful happening.
Mom: "Is this your new game, hon?"
Roman: "Cousin, come see beeg American tee-tees with me!!!"
Me: "Damnit. Uh, most of the game isn't like this mom."
Passer-by: "Hey, watch where the f*ck you're going."
Didn't make it any less awkward though. Nearly every game has violence or vulgarity of some sort, and she has the uncanny ability to see every game's worst moments. Or in GTA's case, any moment. Hell, she walked in on the only PG-13 moment in Ultimate Spider-Man back when I thought I was safe for an entire game (a veiled buttsex reference involving spidey's costume )
So hey. How do you "inspect" a van after pulling it over as a cop? For that matter, how do you pull it over? I lay on my horn (L button) and it continues blithely on its way. I have to ram it and get in front of it just to get the damn thing to stop.
I run around the van and press pretty much every button....nothing. Then I shoot the driver of the van, which fails the mission.
No, I'm looking for TVs in vans or something. It's right after I killed the dude that was sleeping with Roman's girlfriend. Except there's 3 vans and I have to find the right one, and I can't even figure out how to pull it over with the cop car. The directions tell me to press L, which I do, but it goes ignored.
