I found the appearance.
I don't think that they are actually holding hands like it was put there, but it's mostly just a metaphor, a symbol of balance between them and the effect it has on creation, it's how the Phantom Stranger and Etrigan percieve that.

I am reconsidering the relationship between Yahweh and Light/Darkness, since it is possible that the conclusion I arrived at reading only the main-arc was incorrect.

It looks like Etrigan took them through a time portal back to when they merged, PS says "this critical moment"

Also, in the Etrigan issue it says "Once the conflict ended, it settled itself on the plains beyond Goriah's Deep and became the Sunless Sea", which obviously didn't happen, since the conflict ended with them 'flowing' into eachother and changing everything, not with the Great Evil Beast leaving in hell.
I think what I said about the Etrigan issue is correct.

No they did not merge, that is no where in the comics or scans shown. We can see PS looking on one side to the Beast the other is God. Obisdian, The Shade and others get there power from The Shadowlands aka The Sunless Sea.
