Sweet!

I know you were going to post the actual thread at SHC, but you're still going to post that link here at KMC right?

Probably going to have less scans then I expected - Spidey doesn't seem to do much in some issues, but still over 3000+ scans at least - twice as much as the Spawn one (I am using it as a benchmark since it is still the most awesome Respect Thread I have ever seen) so it should be the biggest Respect Thread in internet.

Until someone does full Superman or Batman Respect thread, of course...those two are probably the only ones with the appearence list to rival or (In Superman's case) beat Spider-Man's.

Well, when you consider that today's Superman can only really pull from feats since 85, he probably wouldn't be able to surpass Spidey's number of appearances.

Bats could do it. Kid had more appearences than Superman the past few years (no joke) and has been around longer. I suppose Pre-Crisis feats don't count, but it's the same character, not 2 seperate ones like Earth 1 Superman and Earth 2 Supes.

But otherwise, yeah. We're about to see the biggest respect thread on the internet.

Spider-man has fought and beaten the sinister six several times. He is all about agilty, strength and long term endurance.

Additions!

I'll add these to Page 1 as well:

An early fight against the Enforcers (ASM #10). It's impressive because it shows a seamless string of dodging/webbing/jumping/punching/etc. without even having to think about it. And remember, this was Pete after only 10 issues.

http://img138.imageshack.us/my.php?image=102cy3.jpg

Wraps himself in a web ball to survive a fall:

Rips the roof off of an armorred truck

An incredibly durable web-dome

Fancy bullet dodging, as always.
http://img169.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2051wj6.gif

Webbing-based bat
http://img156.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2061co0.gif

Bizarre but cool skill feat. He is perched on 1 foot on a wooden pole, and manages to stay balanced while juggling 6 balls.
http://img404.imageshack.us/my.php?image=2071zh3.gif

A nice showing against Namor at normal levels (different than the one already posted) until Namor rehydrates himself.

Throwing a jeep 1-handed to the upper stories of a building
http://img170.imageshack.us/my.php?image=jeepxm7.jpg

The following is from a brief-lived series called "The Deadly Foes of Spider-Man". In it, there's mostly just lots of chaos and some pretty cool Spidey feats. The villians present for these fights are Speed Demon, Boomerang, Rhino, Beetle, and HydroMan. Among other things, Spidey owns most of them, beats on Rhino's head multiple times before he can even react, resists HydroMan's most pressurized water blast, and manages to grab Speed Demon while he's running...and Spidey was on the ground at the time.
"Deadly Foes" #3
http://img406.imageshack.us/my.php?image=df22pa4.jpg
http://img406.imageshack.us/my.php?image=df23mv0.jpg

"Deadly Foes" #4

http://img257.imageshack.us/my.php?image=df42uk2.jpg
http://img406.imageshack.us/my.php?image=df43yx9.jpg
http://img300.imageshack.us/my.php?image=df44zc2.jpg
http://img300.imageshack.us/my.php?image=df45pg3.jpg

...

That's it for now. The extended fight from ASM 500 is the last thing I have to post.

You know, during the making of the Respect thread, I found out that no other superhero knows Punisher as much as Spider-Man. I always thought that Daredevil and Frank were the closest ones, but their matchups don't hold a candle to Frank's matchups with Spider-Man. Not to mention that Punisher's first appearence was in Spider-Man. There are some really good stories out there with those two...

But good news, I finally waded through the awful 90's! The feat collecting should go on much faster now.

Late 80's was the best time imo for Spidey.

I never noticed the Punisher stuff, but yeah, his first appearence was in a Spidey comic (pete punked the crap out of him wink )

And feel free to use my additions for your thread as well. ASM 500 will be up in a day or two.

smile

Well, I have now finished with the scans of the thread. yes Happy Dance Went a bit under what I expected, but the scan count is still tremendous 3289 scans. big grin I have now read nearly every single comic Spider-Man has appeared in...and the thread will feature nearly all his minor and major feat from the years 1962 to 2006 (with bit of 2007). They will be ordered by chronology, the feat type, and the feat impresiveness.

There are SOME feats I have seen on here and the internet that I haven't been able to track down...so I might be PMing some of you for info, though...

Tomorrow I will start hosting them and writing the text. I will expect this to take somewhat long time, and with my week long holiday when I won't be doing this...I think the thread will be ready in a month.smile

Like said, because of the unlimited editing feature of SHC.net, I will be posting it there so I can update opening posts and fix broken scans and such...but I'll make a thread for it here too.
