Finally saw Spiderman 3. Not disappointed as I wasn't expecting much, and I was held entrapped for a good 3 hours, only looked at my watch once or twice, and overall I left the theatre in a happier mood than the sheer indifference I left with after the predecessors.
Certainly, it was unfocused and slightly meandering, but it was done well for the most part, and even the comedic scenes (the dance etc.) were enjoyable albeit out of place. Bruce Campbell's cameo was great and the CGI was, as you'd expect for 300m, on key.
I pretty agree with the common concensus that there was too much material to cram into the time limit.
this coming from a guy who swallows the lies and propaganda by the governmet no matter how idiotic and and stupid their ludicrise explanations are. look in the mirror when calling someone that name kid.
Yes, because the government has great relevance to this topic.
Suffice to say I'm not ignorant. I'm not stupid. I consider myself lucky that I didn't turn out to be a hypercynical conspiracy theorist hack who blames the government at the drop of a hat, for everything from crop fires to terrorist attacks. I'd rather be ignorant than that
And as for Spider-Man, it's called creative license. Shit happens, get over it.
it just shows that YOU are in no position to be calling someone a moron when your obviously a blind sheep who cant think for yourself because you have been so badly brainwashed by the government you got no logic or common sense left if you had any before that is,your EXACTLY all those things you said your not in that second sentence.yeah thats real logic there, just because I can think for myself and not be stupid enough to fall for the lies and propaganda by the fairy tale versions given by the government no matter how ludicrous their explanations are, that makes someone a hypercynical conspiracy theorist? kid your hysterical with your logic.
YOU need to get over your obsession you have me which you have proven time and time again you have like just now. Many posters had the same agreements with me once about a certain movie I hated and you only came on and addressed ME about it saying I had bad taste in movies even though again the others on that thread had the same agreements with me about that movie.I then asked why you were singling me out since others were expressing their same disgust over that same movie I was as well and you answered back by saying-because I have a history with you.Clearly a sign of a kid that has an irrational obsession over me over some argument from long ago you clearly cant get over.how pathetic.

but then you have to factor in all the little kids that cant even tell the difference between a good movie and a bad one, and then all the people that didnt know it was going to suck (i.e. ME)
and of course its just an opinion, but i really cant see why the movie held up at all

thanks LifeInSepia, sig is AWESOME
Yeah, off all the people who went to see it. Doesn't mean it's a good movie.
I thought Spider-Man was amazing, I thought two was brilliant, but less so now. I thought three was absolutely dreadful.
As for Pirates 3, I just got back from it and I went in with mega-expectations. It surpassed them all, for me, but that's me. Others may hate it. However, it doesn't cop out like Spider-Man, and most movies like that nowadays tend to do.
Yea, off a bunch of people who went to see it, which increased box-office numbers, which is what the thread is about. Not how good the movie was. There's the "Spiderman 3" thread for that, where quality can be discussed there.

Pirates Opens in Record # of Theaters
Source: The Associated Press
May 24, 2007
Many thought Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End wouldn't be able to open as wide as Spider-Man 3 did three weeks ago, considering that sequel and Shrek the Third are still playing in theaters. Wrong!
"At World's End" will open in 4,362 theaters domestically, 110 more than previous record-holder Spider-Man 3. Many theaters will start playing the film at 8 p.m. tonight and some will even run the movie 24 hours a day.
Released by Walt Disney Pictures, "At World's End" now aims to snatch back the record for best debut it lost this month to Spider-Man 3, the Sony Pictures blockbuster that pulled in $151.1 million over opening weekend.
That debut shattered last summer's record of $135.6 million set by Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.
The length of "At World's End" - two hours, 47 minutes - will be a hurdle, limiting the number of screenings theaters can fit in each day. The movie runs about 15 minutes longer than "Dead Man's Chest" and nearly half an hour longer than Spider-Man 3.
"At World's End" also faces stiffer competition than Spider-Man 3, which had no other big movies to contend with when it opened May 4. Besides Spidey, Shrek will also be competing with "At World's End" for audiences.
Along with the higher theater count, "At World's End" has the advantage of opening over the Memorial Day weekend, which should boost its Sunday grosses since moviegoers have the day off Monday.

I'm curious as to why when this thread was made that Shrek 3 was included in the title for discussion as well b/c that's just as big a contender as these 2 movies as has been proven by the discussions in this thread as well which have included Shrek 3.
I thought AWE was great, way better than DMC(which disappointed me) and the best movie I have seen since Batman Begins which has become my favorite movie.
