heyheyhey. enuff w/ the canada jokes hey? .. anyway, i read in the newspaper like two weeks ago about some guy who studies the speaking of people from across North America. apparently, us Vancouverites sound like valley girls, Calgarians change every "s" sound into "sh". i.e. the "Shaddledome".. Torontonians talk really fast and mix wordsgether...and they call their city Toron-na. ..and then Quebecers of course have their French accents.. Newfies speak Newfie lol... hmm. let's get into American speaking now! .. hmm. too much to say.. but i'm pretty sure u can tell the differences between ppl's talking from let's say alabama to washington state.

hmm. i mite see Ghost Ship tomorrow. sometime this weekend at least. or maybe cheap movie Tuesday.. hmm.
i found some halloween movie rankings:
This is a hard list to put together, primarily because there are so many really GOOD scary horror movies out there.
10. Jacob’s Ladder (1990)
Tim Robbins plays Jacob Singer, a troubled Vietnam vet who gets some really scary nightmares. Problem is, the nightmares start to happen while he is awake, too! Death and destruction in Vietnam, possible Army experiments with LSD as a combat-enhancing drug, and some family trauma all add up to a very very scary film that doesn’t seem to get the praise it deserves. A truly remarkable film that asks us, “what is real, and what is not?”
9. The Innocents (1961)
Thirty years does nothing to dampen the effect of this well made, well acted, and subtly creepy movie. Based on Henry James’ novel "The Turn of the Screw," this thriller/ghost story starts out slow, but before you realize it, you’re hooked. Deborah Kerr stars is perfect as the governess for an orphaned boy and girl. The house is strange and forbidding…as it should be! And the house has a secret past that could well be affecting the children, in an understated but VERY scary way.
8. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
This movie has lots going for it in the scary department. Theme song, terrific cast performances, scary archetiecute, and of course, Mister Entertainment Himself…Satan! Do you like crazy, zany characters (Ruth Gordon) and a bunch of old naked Satan worhipers? Start popping the popcorn!
7. The Sixth Sense (1999)
Nine-year-old Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment) sees dead people…everywhere…and it is not a pleasant experience for him. Neither for us, as director M. Night Shyamalan takes us on a tour of ghosts that will scare and entrhall you at the same time. Two scenes to watch out for…in the kitchen with a ghost, and the famous “tent” scene. This one is too good to miss.
6. The Omen (1975)
A classis in every sense, and one of the scariest movies ever made. The Antichrist is here, alive and well in the form of a little boy named Damien, and his Dad (Gregory Peck) has to do something about it. What Dad has to “do” involves demons and dogs and daggers, not necessarily in that order, and nothing is as expected. What you can expect is a bone-chilling ride into horror that has been matched by only a few films.
5. The Haunting (1963)
This is THE haunted house movie. Forget all the others and rent this classic now. Did you see the remake with all the special effects? It is a waste of time compared to the original. With no special effects to speak of, this film will terrify you to the point where you’ll be afraid to go into large old mansions…and you won’t see a single ghost in the entire movie! Watch this movie, then try to go to bed without a nightlight on!
4. Poltergeist (1982)
Another truly scary film that doesn’t get its due. Anerican Suburbia becomes a horrific place of ghosts and death and ghosts and terror and ghosts and more ghosts! There’s even a moral to the story that warns of about forgetting our past while we are in the purstui of worldy gain. And the film has one of the classis lines in horror movies…understated, with no real meaning until you see the film for the second time…Carol Anne watching the television and says… “They’re here!”
3. Alien (1979)
One of the most frightening alien monsters ever created. This film is a guarnteed nightmare-giver. The monster is never seen full frame, just bits an dpieces, glimpses into the horror that the Alien truly is. Sigourney Weaver is supurb (she’s even better in the wonderful sequel, “Aliens”) and along with a great cast, allows the viewer to take part in all the spine-chilling fun! A classic that nukes the whole idea of “helpless damsels in distress” that were such a part of traditional gothic horror films.
2. Psycho (1960)
If you don’t know about this film, you must have been living under a rock for the last twenty years. Hitchcock started the slasher flick craze with this shocking and mesmorizinfg film that has influended every filmmaker to take up a camera. Don’t waste your time on the remake…it is lame at best, and terribly unscary. With perfect performances by Janet Leigh and Anthony Perkins, Hitchcock made America and the world afraid to take a shower! No real special effects on this one…it doesn’t need them. Innovatinve camera angles and editing make this a truly landmark film.
And the Scarist Movie of all…
1. The Exorcist (1973)
Chosen by TV Guide as the scariest movie of all time, and with good reason. Age has not effected the power of this film, because it WILL make you jump back and cringe. If you like things green, you are in for a treat. Watch Linda Blair do the “split pea soup shower of death” or whatever you want to call it. Suspensful, with great acting and a screenplay that today’s filmmakers would die for. Hey…do you think today’s filmmakers would sell their soul to the devil to get a screenplay as good as “The Exorcist”? They just might!
Classics You Need To See Anyway!!!!!!
"Frankenstein" (1931)
The first true horror film. What may seem like movie clichés aren’t clichés at all…remember, this film was the FIRST!
"Invasion of the Body Snatchers" (1956)
Sci-fi horror at it’s best. There have been a couple remakes, and they’re not bad, but see the original! See why people where afraid to go to sleep!
"Night of the Living Dead" (1968)
One of the first and arguably the best of the low-budget zombie flicks. What’s black and white and scary all over? A copy of “Living Dead” wrapped in a newspaper.
"Dracula" (1931)
See the classic, then you’ll know where all the other vampire movies went wrong. Bela Lugosi is the first, best and last real Dracula. All the others are variations and copies. He isn’t the scariest, but you cannot forget his performance. Another one to check out, the silent film "Nosferatu".
"The Wolf Man" (1941)
Yes, it’s old, but who cares? It will still shake you up and down, and put a shiver in your quiver. A truly remarkable horror film, rare in that the “monster” is truly a syympathitic character. Lon Chaney, Jr. at his best.
“The Shining” (1980)
Stanley Kubrick’s film has its strengths and weaknesses, but overall he succeeded in turning Stephen King's novel into a successful horror film. Yes, Shelly Duval is terrible and about as convincing as a used car salesman, but Jack Nicholson is awesome.

The Shining was great. Classic horror film. Jack Nicholson and his creepiness give the movie the right amount of suspense.
