I got around to trying China Town now.
It's a good version of "District", it's an urban map like "District", but far from so crappy (District is the wost piece of shit in CoD). You are not forced to go milelong detours just to get on the other side of some building, because a lot more of the buildings have interiors, and several floors (basements even). No roofs as far as I have seen though. Overall a good map.
Definitley not a sniper map, but you can still have a lot of ranged fights.
I also discovered that there is a fourth map called Killhouse, which I've yet to test, it doesn't ever seem to pop up. I overheard some chatting, and none of them had managed to get a Killhouse map yet.
playing the new maps today for a while and they are all rather...big...well except killhouse which hasn't come up yet
initially they were only available for hardcore team and normal team matches but they were giving double xp points for each kill and assist...but they've now been opened up to general play
the way it works on xbl is that if someone in the lobby hasn't downloaded the new maps then the maps become locked out of the rotation between matches
Chinatown seems to be most peoples least favourite although on free for all it's pretty good...i personally think that broadcast is superb...it has frantic interior fights...an open car park and a load of small out buildings which you can snipe the roof and large windows of the main building from...on free for all it's best to stay indoors and on team deathmatch, if you're a sniper, its best to head to the out buildings
as for creek...some people say it's a snipers dream but so far i dont like it....while it is open...the foliage covers alot of good vantage points and the best vantage point from the top of the hill can be attacked from almost 360 degrees...it's also the biggest of the maps and i cant see it working on anything but team matches and ground war
deep impact is a waste of time...it only means the bullets do more damage when passing through walls...if you shoot someone directly it doesn't increase the bullet damage...or so i'm informed...
