My high school did the Day of Silence for the first time when I was a senior. Some parents found out about it and was convinced the school had some agenda to turn kids gay, and it was going to be discussed at a school board meeting if it'd be allowed again. About 30 students turned up (half of which had just graduated a week before, like myself), and I was one of the ones that spoke in front of the school board. __________________
