Reminded me why I found Deer Hunter so boring, but at least it was only half the length. I liked the idea, but there just wasn't enough depth to the movie. It was too simple of a concept that could have been a great short, but even 90 minutes was too long.

Well, I thought it was a very good movie.

I also really like the movie. However, the last two minuets or so could have been fixed to something more fulfilling.

Caught this today. Could've been better imo (specifically the ending I guess). Reminded me a lot of Deer Hunter, for obvious reasons and also because I thought the lead looked like a cross between Robert DeNiro and James Franco. Anyway, this was an alright film, but I felt it was lacking something. I'm curious as to why they're remaking this, doesn't seem necessary; but hell, how many remakes are necessary?

I agree that it is a good film, really enjoyed it but I don't agree that it was predictable.

I was sceptical at first, being this a french film and although I am french descent, I question if anything worthwhile came out of that culture but damn that movie is all that!!!!

There are lots of good French films.

Indeed there are.

Unfortunately not these ones, IMO. Didn't enjoy either of them.

French films I do rate highly though include but are not limited to:

The Class
Angela-A
Cache / Hidden
Innocence.

All superb in fact.

Oh Innocence is fantastic! It's beautifully shot.

Also, If I read right, I can't believe someone with French blood is questioning if anything good came out of their culture... are you insane...

It is, not just beautifully shot but full of intrigue and very thought provoking too. It's an excellent film. Poses so many questions.
