i guess this is kinda a silly thread but if you guys don't mind I've been wondering about the differences between pet sematary the movie and the novel
i only know about the following diffrences between the movie and the novel im going to state the novel's diffrences since i believe you've all seen the movie.
the Indian burial ground's a haunted place as if it had no boundaries and you could get lost forever there, or around there.
the reason for the burial grounds unholiness in the book is explained, it is due to so many people buried there who where victims of cannibalism
the driving force behind the burial ground is the wendigo a native American demon, who seems to make men commit cannibalism, do not be fooled this is not some silly demon this is a force behind human darkness that lures men into destruction and can influence the lives of those who come into contact with it.
the wendigo is actually described in the book
Louis is shown all the people who have ever used the burial grounds evil power he is one of them as well as jud
Timmy the demon who is the soldier who's dad buried in the burial ground, i believe that its stated that he was not as violent as in the movie meaning he wasn't just some zombie but more of a demonic force attacking people through there inner most fears and using there secrets against them, the demon cage also has such attributes.
also jud has a wife in the movie

Gender: Male Location: With a bunch of Aqua-Bitches fool !
Yeah it's a goddamn shame that there gonna to rape one of the best and scariest horror movies off al time...These days they don't make movies like pet sematary anymore ..These days they throw some ghost's... a sh*tload of special effects and some corny jokes on tape and call it a horror movie??!!
Goddamn blasphomy i tell ya
Aqua-pimp i couldnt agree with you more. Im been driven futher and futher away from the horror genre because of useless actors & actresses and shitty remaks oe just plain crap horror movies these days. Thank god for low budget straight to dvd horror
are they remaking everything cause they just are trying to milk every old franchise they can or are they just basically running out of idea's or not even trying
I am 19 and I think many remakes are being made because most young adults my age don't even know or care about the original movies. I sat down with a few of my friends and put in Dawn of the Dead (78), my friends didn't even make it past the part where they first discover the mall, my friends said it was a boring, useless movie.
I couldn't believe it, Dawn of the Dead, boring? Useless? That film helped change the horror genre and my friends said it was useless. Most of my friends won't even watch older horror movies because in their opinion they are stupid and not the least bit scary.
I know there are still many people who appreciate the original versions but I just think it's amazing that classics such as Night of the Living Dead, Halloween, The Thing, Evil Dead and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre are being replaced by crap like Final Destination and The Grudge.
