Okay, I'm pretty sure none of those were released in 2007. Also, everyone knows Purple Rain is the far more consistent album.

Dude, Purple Rain is a sellout, excellent but sellout

WTF? Are you even aware of the definition of what "sell out" is? If anything, he sold in with that album. That album didn't betray any of the values or styles (that Prince is known for) for cash. In fact, it's the perfect example of Prince's style in the 80's.

He traded in all he was doing before that album for a rock & Roll album and after the album he makes totally different music.

Anyway I always preferred his 1985-88 period so maybe it's just me.

WTF? Have you heard Purple Rain? If you think Purple Rain is a "rock n roll" album, you obviously haven't heard it. At all. It's a Synth-based, Pop rock album that is totally in the vein of it's predecessor 1999. He wasn't trading anything. Little Red Corvette sounds like it could be on that album. The only underlying difference being that 1999 took on my "dance" tones. Yes, he totally ditched the sound when he created Around The World In A Day, just like he did with For You and Prince for Dirty Mind and Controversy and then ditched them for 1999 and Purple Rain. It's what brilliant musicians do, change and evolve their sound, if you can't understand that, then I have no idea how you appreciate Prince, because he does that all the time.

Ha, genius, telling someone their opinion is wrong. As if there's any sort of authority on what is 'better' in music.

But saying 'Purple Rain' is rock & roll, or a sellout album, is even more rediculous, to be fair.

I never said it was wrong. At first I just offered my opinion on which Prince album I thought was better. Then he, as you rightly agreed, went on to say that it was "sell out" and "rock n roll" when those terms can't even be applied to that album.

It's 2009 now, and the official albums of '07 haven't even been named yet.

Now we should do one for '08 or '09. Hopefully people will have moved on to greener pastures musically speaking.

In no particular order, I'm to impartial to divide the top 10, even being in a top ten is amazing.

- The Bends - Radiohead
- Uknown Pleasures - Joy Division
- The Hurting - Tears for Fears
- Hatful of Hollow - The Smiths
- The College Dropout - KanYe West
- Secret Samadhi - Live
- Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band - The Beatles
- The Blueprint - Jay-Z
- Rumours - Fleetwood Mac
- Blonde on Blonde - Bob Dylan

I know it's not perfect, but it was really hard to limit it down to 10.

They've got to be the top ten albums of 2007, 2008 and 2009 (or either one of those years).

No, not at all. I did discover most of these bands through a Dutch magazine named OOR though.
